I have severe PTSD and suffer from night terrors from it, for almost 10 years I've suffered from this to the point it's given me insomnia to keep from sleeping or going back through those traumatic experiences again, and your advice has actually helped! For almost 2 weeks now I've had peaceful rest, less agitation and am less aggressive throughout each day. Thank you for this help! Nothing I can offer could ever repay you for this

when one says "what happens in your nightmare isn't real"...yes, literally, it isn't currently really happening...but when it's a memory relived in a dream, it is very real...and moreover, it's worse than having the memory when awake, when we can rationalize and talk ourselves down. just a caveat here, that it may be a past event, but it was very real, and it FEELS much more real and intense than in a waking memory. for example, when I remember my abuse when I am awake, I can handle the shame by knowing it wasn;t my fault...BUT when asleep, I'm the child again NOT knowing that it's not my fault, and the shame haunts me for three days straight.

I started this method after attending at the Walnut Tree Project. My complex PTSD was out of control. This technique took time and practice for me to learn and to redirect my day and night mares. It really does work. Also really good to dip into the videos for revision updates every now and again as gentle reminders that we can redirect our dreams power

My therapist shared this with me today. It makes a lot of sense to me and will be giving it a try. I've had recurring dreams about not being able to find my classes/meeting or losing things and not being able to find them. Last night I dreamed about losing a plane ticket. I plan to reframe it by realizing that I can just look the ticket up in my email. Simple solution.

Thank you! I refuse to go to sleep. It feels like l want to protect me from feeling even more exhausted and dysregulated after sleeping. Cognitively I get that the experiences in childhood when I needed orientation and safety and that someone made sense of what happened and my emotions but found myself confronted with frustrated reactions and shaming me for even having needs or problems left me with a huge pile unfinished experiences. That I kept for myself to not poke in the beehive. Those experiences are still lingering around highly reactive. Constantly reminding myself that they want to be finished. Then, growing up getting alone doable solutions all by myself, my answers for life's questions have been not that balanced out, leading to even more decisions that added hurts. I still don't know what could help? Having a safe wise guide in my dream chaos? That helps me figuring out long term good solutions? That's the thing. I still lack experience. I fear even imagined connections. It's complex and I can imagine there could be layers I have to address. I will try and figure out what's helping.

Thank you for this video! I have complex ptsd and ocd. I keep getting recurring nightmares about catching covid and inadvertently passing it to a relative, the nightmares are very slightly different each time but the fear is the same. I lost my beloved Gran a few years ago, not to covid but I think the fear relates to her passing. How would I go about creating a positive dream relating to a fear of catching covid ? I also have insomnia and it takes me 3 hours to get to sleep, when I do eventually sleep I wake with a nightmare and the process repeats itself. I wake sweating, dizzy and with a racing heart, it happens every night 😢. Thank you for your help!

Hi Cathy, I'm a person who suffers from this disorder and my only success with overcoming my constant nightmares/waking up constantly during the night was a psychotherapist who did Image Rehearsal Therapy. During the day, taking time to visualise myself in a place I want to be (With a script to listen to), movement, feel of the wind, feel of the grass on my feet etc. Combined with a similar thing in this video it truly changed my life.

I have CPTSD, I've been waking up throughout the night for decades. I would guess that I'm reliving the traumas every night from childhood and adulthood . It has gotten much worse and now I'm getting up every hour. I do not see any dreams but they must be occurring and I don't know what they are about. I don't wake up with any particular emotion but I would guess it is some anxiety. I did what you said, I wrote out a new dream scenario of me lying on a beach . I did this for two nights but nothing has changed. I'm still getting up every hour. Please somebody advise me...thank you
