This was an excellent breakdown on the Stroll as commonly practiced in the Rockabilly world and it is essential to know if you ever make it Viva Las Vegas where everyone does it non-stop with beautiful styling. I was working out some kinks and this video cleared everything up perfectly.

Thanks so much! That is cool to know about it being different in the UK. May we ask how? Because we are aware of another type of strolling with touches and hip movement, lol. Which we've done at Rockabilly shows. :) Love how dance is universal though.

@@time.2swing thanks for the reply, can't dance much here at present, the uk version has turns in it after the backwards & forwards bit, not done by males much though, almost always a femal dance.

There are a few variations of the rockabilly line dance, strolling. This is just one of the ways and it is the most popular, especially at VLV. 🙂

Thats not how they were doing it on American Bandstand in the 60's.

Hi! So this is not that same stroll, this is a Rockabilly Jive line dance, and it is heavily referred to as the stroll in the scene. We are familiar with the stroll on American Bandstand, but this is a different version. 😊😉🤘🏼

sorry, but i've never seen 3 single steps to start. all dance schools i know start with 2 single steps and 2 doublesteps

How interesting! Well out here in the states and even international events, we all start this way. Seen it at Viva, too. Teaching it how we learned and also have seen it. :)

@@time.2swing that's really funny. there seem to be really continental differences. At events like the high rockabilly (Spain), the rhythm riot (England), the rockin race, the summer jamboree (Italy) and a few others, people actually only dance with 2 single steps. :-)
