If that happens,then maybe your needle is too big for the fabric which causes it to make a big hole in the fabric I recommend u to buy a bigger hole fabric or a smaller needle Hope it helps!!

You could use a small needle called an ultra punch, but it won't be quite the same as cross stitch.
