This video made me miss Paris more and more. I lived a few blocks away from Cimetière du Père-Lachaise which contains another stolen monument vole, the crypt of Heloise et Abelard, from the 12th century. The best rule for learning the placement of adjectives is: BANGS beauty, age, number, goodness, size these categories of adjectives generally come before the noun -- but, as this video makes clear, the placement before or after the noun can change the meaning of the noun being described

@@cmlazar I think, for the purposes of the acronym, "badness" is a measure of goodness -- a very low measure of goodness, obviously.

Merci pour ce vidéo! J'ai voulu faire un bref commentaire -- quand on dit "adjective" en anglais, il faut mettre la stresse clairement sur le "ad" (comme ADjective) au lieu du "jec". Quand on dit adJECtive, ça sonne plutôt comme le mot "ejective", ce qui est une éspèce de consonne qui existe dans plusieures langues (mais pas en français).

I learnt to remember the adjectives that come before a noun by saying 'bags' which stands for beauty, age, goodness and size. It's really helpful and I thought that others may want to use the same trick . xx

The BAGS acronym isn’t taught in France. They don’t need it. It’s only taught to American students learning French. I believe is originated at the University of Wisconsin by a French methods teacher named Connie Knop. I had her in 1963.

Un autre adjectif problématique est "prochaine"...comme "prochaine arrete du bus" ou "la semaine prochaine". Le même avec dernière.

Merci bien Géraldine! Cette leçon sur comment placer les adjectifs est très utile pour moi. Mais je me demande pourquoi tu parles l'anglais au lieu du français dans tes leçons françaises? On apprend mieux et beaucoup plus si la prof nous communique en français. En plus, il existe beaucoup d'apprenants de la langue française qui ne sont pas nécessairement anglophones. Personnellement, je préfère écouter en français pour mieux apprendre la langue de Molière...

"La belle tour Eiffel" ou "la tour Eiffel est belle"? I think both are correct!

An adjective which is one or two syllables is considered a "small" adjective.

Bonjour, Les deux veulent dire la même chose mais il y a une petite nuance. "Vieux" dans le sens que le bâtiment n'est pas récent, il date. "Ancien" dans le sens qu'il date d'une autre époque ou qui fut en fonction mais ne l'est plus. Bonne journée, Fabien Comme Une Française Team

Please Please do some lessons ALL in French. I can't stand any French lesson that is 90% English. It's the reason English speakers never learn. Why bother having subtitles if you are going to speak in English? Or is the channel for the deaf? :)
