I'm a native English speaker but I always enjoy watching these kinds of videos for some reason. By the way, the word "obnoxious" does mean rude, but it has the connotation or secondary meaning of also annoying, maybe loud or disruptive in some way. If someone is making a spectacle of themselves in a public setting you might call them obnoxious.

@@alisheransari2454 Calling someone "obnoxious" is abusive in the sense that it's not a nice thing to say about someone. It usually signals to those around you that you're angry or frustrated with the person.

Hey, friends. My name is Omar and I'm from Colombia. This is the first time I write to you but I really appreciate what you teach on this channel. I've learned a lot, you have helped me to improve my English in such an important way. A long time ago I've had a question on my mind, may you answer it. Just on this video you use an expression which reminds me of my doubt. Why do you use a phrasal verb with some verbs which indicate their meaning in a direct way. For example, (as you used here) "wash up the dishes." Isn't it enough to just say, "wash the dishes"? And I've seen this in several verbs. Why do you use phrasal verbs with some verbs that may not need that? Thank you miss🙏🕉️
@LearnEnglishWithTVSeries
2 ай бұрын
Thank you for learning with us Omar! That's a great question indeed. And you are right - often it's enough to say just a verb. In this case, you can say I wash up and I wash the dishes. The meaning won't change. Or you can say I clean up my desk and I clean my desk. It's the same. But be careful with other phrasal verbs where 'up' would change the menaing completeley, like in the case of bring and bring up. To answer your question, it's just a more casual, informal way to say it. Sometimes, up may add a sense of completion. The simplest example is with the food - please eat up! (finish your meal). Please drink up! (finish your drink) If you want to go deeper in the topic, you can read this article I just found - www.reddit.com/r/grammar/comments/99r0ya/why_do_we_use_the_word_up_after_some_verbs/

Hi Carlos, thanks for your suggestion! ❤️
I've watched twice on tv every holiday season in indonesian dubbed so i didn't notice those rocket science words definately would skip those, meaning that i wouldn't put or take notes those science words what a brillian stingray indeed. Besides a fin fish has a gill they should've mention the word to for those English who doesn't know the word. Speaking of Helicopter parents that hovering over their kids that's fact some parents in real life also overprotective so that keep an eye on them, in the case of he being a helicopter father due to feel concer on his own son condition my mama would feel the same about me if i have trip somewhere with my teachers, my mama also would feel concern on legs and my foot if i travel around with others that not so close with me cos i can't walk yet since i was born. I was a premature baby i sleptpover in an incubator when i were a baby my mama said, i was a poor baby back then. Climp a board is when we on a boat and in a yatch right? Your explaination is valid uncle Thiago. I'm a son who was born with stiff legs and the bone of my back didn't straight at all, i need a therapiest to handle my condition. Lesson from the movie: All of us has shortcomings condescending others is not allowed espacially towards people who have disablity like us. The differece bwtween me and Nemo: Nemo has a little fin but can swim still. Me: i have a dissablity but i can't walk as smooth as Nemo yet. Just so you know: I left hand also not strong enough to hold but to push the wheel on my wheelchair i can do it with both hands though. I wrote those piece of information so you guys could know a little bit about me. What do you think? My request: Could you please upload a video on learning English with Shark bait? The continuetion of the movie is The Reef 2 where the main character( a fish) has already got married and has a son, please take my request as a consideration. Addictional information: My papa passed away by lymph gland cancer when i was 11 in 2013.😢 1:11 In Indonesian if we saying school of fish it means school for fish, to described a school of fish we just saying group of fish, our native language are resemble you know please do some reasearch to figure out on the internet.😊 Edit: I mixed up too from time to time when i made a story with an Ai cos i use voice message always.😅 My answer: No, my mama is not a helicopter mother i go outside once in a blue moon.😂 16:28 Hahaha what a funny scene ever, yes Nemo don't hurt yourself by pronuncing a word that difficult to pronunce.😂 Spiderman 2 Doctor Octopus: 12:42 The doctor Octopus basically his invension made his wife died on the crime scene, he didn't feel guilty at all about it spour of the moment those tantacles become his weapon to attack his rival Spiderman, Long story short in the end Spiderman defeated him and he saying goodbye to the world by doing self inflicted.😒
