I have a phrase: GO SLOW to GO FAST. That's how I think about deep learning. Invest the time to Deeply Learn every word/phrase/term in the right context and then go back and say the stories out loud. It is amazing what will happen! Challenge builds confidence!

Hi, and thank you for a great question. I have coached business executives for years helping them become confident communicating. A very big part of building confidence is Deeply Learning vocabulary. When you have a really good understanding of more vocabulary, then you are confident to use it in your speaking. So, yes, I encourage you to use all of your vocabulary when you are speaking. It really depends on who you are talking to . Sometimes we need to use more simple vocabulary so the person can understand us. Sometimes we can use more complex vocabulary. The real message is that your confidence will go up SO much when you are comfortable with all of these words and their pronunciations. Have fun!

I will say this many times: GO SLOW TO GO FAST Deeply learn each word, understand the pronunciation, the meaning, how it is used and then say it out loud. Say the story out loud with confidence and feeling. It works! Enjoy the journey.

Hi - thanks for finding this. I never read the dictionary before, so after I saw your comment I wanted to see how the "dictionary experts" do it. You are correct, they use this "iks" thing.... which is absolutely crazy to me. I honestly don't understand what they are thinking. I vote for Grant's Crazy Pronunciation Guide of "eks" to replace the illogical and impractical "dictionary experts" use of "iks." Things that make you go hmmmmm......
