Guys I started learning Chinese from zero about the same time Eileen started teaching. I watched her videos over and over again, not all of them, but the ones I thought best apt to teach me (common actions acted out; hsk vocabulary series) AND IT WORKED. I AM FLUENT NOW.

@@godlysense9065 You can realistically reach very basic (survival) Chinese in just 12 months, simple conversation at 18, talking like a human in 2 years reading in 3 to 5 depending of course on how much you study. I think the very fastest we could reach is 90 days for survival Chinese at least for European languages.

This kind of video is great! A lot of time the everyday stuff is hardest to talk about in another language. You may be able to discuss a variety of complex topics while you can’t talk about the simple steps you take to make a sandwich.

Really nice idea for a video series, I would love to see more of that. Also I have to say, the production value of this video is really good! Multiple cameras, good lighting, nice cutting... it looks really professional. I am sure it has taken a lot of effort to set up the shooting location, configuring the cameras and edit the video like that, but that hard work has paid off. It looks amazing! Keep up the great work

I hope they pay they do retribute ver well for these videos as you really put in a lot effort through all this time consuming editing , sub titling, pasting and cutting. You cover it all, I really appreciate. These videos really come in super handy over time. I was just trying to figure out the overall playing time since you have started? probably around 50 to 60 hours. Can you imagine, put together how you really tackled and covered so many topics, situations, etc . I keep it as a a daily routine and practice like 1.5 hour every day, mostly with your videos. I have been building up my own bilingual dicitionnary and reached over 15 000 inputs. I have really improved my reading, listening and spoken skills with you. Keep u p the good work. Great series! ❤ Little known fact: if rice is grown on dry fields then the arsenic from polluted ground (nowadays all ground is polluted in almost all countries) will not go into the rice, which means with dry fields no arsenic poisoning will happen. Unfortunately, wet rice fields yield slightly more rice and thus most (if not all) farmers use wet fields, thus poisoning the population.

TOO FAST? Control the video's playback speed by speeding up or slowing down the video 5% at a time on desktop computers and laptops OR 25% at a time on smartphone! Access the playback speed controls as follows: Desktop Computers and Laptops: open the video, then go to the lower right of the video's screen and click on the settings icon (it looks like a GEAR). On the upper right of the options window that comes up, you will see the link "custom". Click on the "custom" link to control the video's playback speed by speeding up or slowing down the video 5% at a time. Smartphones: open the video and go to the upper right of the video's screen. You will see 3 dots. Click on them and you will see the link to open the "playback speed" controls. Click on this link and you will be able to control the video's playback speed by speeding up or slowing down the video 25% at a time. Note that viewing the video on desktop computer/laptops gives you greater control over the playback speed (5% vs 25% on smartphones).
