Merci!!! M'encante els videos!! I have been in a long distance relationship for ten years with my beautiful girlfriend from Barcelona. Soc d Estates Units. For years i scoured bookstores and websites trying to find a decent resource for learning Catala. I have spent so much money and learned nothing.All the resources and classes are focused on spanish to Catala. I even took a 4 week course in Barcelona. (I made them laugh a lot but learned almost nothing). I spend every summer there and still have learned. Parlant catala pero...no se.. es mal. In the city the people in the shops switch to English when they see me. Its so frustrating. I have studied the series Merli and videos from TV3 online as welI. Honestly I had given up. Then today i found your videos and i have renewed hope!!!! Bravo!!! Moltes gracias!!! I am overjoyed. One day Catalunya will be my full time home. It is very important to me that i become fluent. Please continue your wonderful work.

Great video.Just something I thinnk would be useful for you and viewers of future videos you might do. When, in English, you are expressing in sound, the difference between singular and plural (The flower vs The flowers), you need to stress the end of the word flower/s and not the word ‘The’, as you are doing. So, stress them as FlowER and FlowERS. Stressing any other word (or part of a word) can cause confusion.

"Odio" is exactly like in Italian. But we pronunce it with an open "o", whereas you pronunce it as "udìu". Moreover we put the stress on the first "o", whereas you put the stress on the "ì".

Hello Maria, thank you for the lessons! Could you explain how 'e' is pronounced? When you say Barcelona, for instance, it sounds more like BarcAlona. Excuse my question if you already explained it in some other tutorial.

Hola! I would suggest that you speak Spanish anytime you want to have a proper conversation, but you could learn some basics in Catalan (greetings, asking for advice, saying thanks...). That's what I do when travelling abroad!

@@habeng7208 I know you asked a year later but there is a website that I think has every movie dubbed or subbed in catalan, for you to stream, like netflix. Its called, filmin.cat You can watch "Pa Negre", amongst others there :)

T'estim is in old language, conserved in the Balear islands.

In Northern Catalonia it is T'estimi and in valencian it is T'estime.
