I love doing the back hand version of this shot. Its a great follow up when you do a short serve and the opponent tries a short return. Because they get the return short and low they expect a straight clear, but you drop your eblow across your body and flick the shuttle cross court, long or short depending on how the opponents are positioned

Hey greg, jenny. Whats the difference between this and the regular forehand crossnet? In the regular cross net video that you made, you also show the straight then hit cross. Is the difference just that the shown contact point vs actual hitting point is larger in the trickshot version?

At the level where everyone is able to generate power with short swing, every shot looks deceptive. As the receiving side of this kind of deception, I find myself sometimes stuck in place because after my split step my weight goes slightly towards the direction of where I initially thought the shuttle would go. I've often been told by coaches, to not run towards the shuttle, or move towards the shuttle when it hasn't even been hit yet. So "watch the shuttle" But what are your advices against the short swing deception? At 5:44, huang is completely unfazed by the deception. Can you explain how she is able to do so? Is it because she knows that you have the options to play wherever BECAUSE the shuttle is in that green zone?

i think the name must be " THE RATTLE CROSS" inspired from rattle snake as it jiggles its tale to attract prey towards it and then at the very perfect time attacks the prey . Similarly this shot attracts the opponent ( can be called prey here) then and the very perfect time boom . BTW i love your videos so much before i found this channel on youtube i thought what if the legend players themselves teach us and then i found you guys . Truly thankful and love from my side .

I do a similar shot and my opponents started calling it the "fish hook" but I've done it so often it's just "fish" for short. If you draw a line of the racket movement it looks like a "J", which is what a fish hook looks like. Also instead of coming up with different names for deceptive shots we just started calling all of them "fish". To make it a bit funnier I might call it the "Wednesday special" (or whatever day it is) or give it my name and say the "Jonathan special".

Hi guys love your videos! About the tournament, I secured a Gold and a Bronze medal. I struggled with my movements at times because my back foot wasn’t at the correct position at times. I took your advice when you said “Play to your strengths and ignore the scoreboard.” I had you guys in my mind cheering me on. One person at the tournament told me “Think of your friends Greg and Jenny” because I was a little shaky at times. What were my results? I came 4th in doubles and 1st in Team Relay. I had some really tough matches because I was put in the higher level group. I’m now recovering from the tournament. ❤️
