The NightMair! Or you could add a descriptive adjective like The Crosscourt Nightmair.
This shot should be called "Scrambled Greg" like Scrambled Egg as it sends your opponents scrambling to return 😂

You're very welcome - hope you enjoyed the video 😊
It's the... "Mairsdirection" (misdirection 😅) Great video as usual! Thank you!
Wizardry - I remember watching it at the World Champs 2023 and the commentator calling it something like that. It could also be implying Greg is a racket wizard :D Thanks for the tips again, loving your videos!

Haha good memory! 👏 Thank you so much!!
I love doing the back hand version of this shot. Its a great follow up when you do a short serve and the opponent tries a short return. Because they get the return short and low they expect a straight clear, but you drop your eblow across your body and flick the shuttle cross court, long or short depending on how the opponents are positioned
This shot should be called "The Greg Breaker" 😂

Paying tribute to 'the ankle breaker'. I like it
Ive recently picked up badminton and wanted to play competitively at my high school. You’re guys’ videos have been helping me a lot. I can’t thank you guys enough for your videos

That's awesome to hear - thank you so much for watching 😊🏸
Just watched a clip with Lin Dan doing his deceptive hold and flicks, started the video, wanted to comment, then saw how Greg explains how he was inspired by Lin Dan🙃, nice video!
Hey Gregg and Jenny. love watching all your videos. I suggest that you make videos or tutorial on how to judge the shuttle either were in or out while still in the air. We have so much face difficulties when judging the shuttle in the air and buzzing if it is out or in.
Superb, got try this next time!
What about, "The Mairs Snare".

I'll test this in the nearest future! Thx our Masters!
Lots of good suggestion here, good luck with choosing. I particularly liked the tip to keep your eyes wide and looking down the line, so my suggestion is the cross eyed drop.
What about “the angle breaker” shot
The Lin Dan Cross Court Flick

That's the first thing that came to my mind I have seen lin dan do that
5:45 that reaction time was godly
Thanks for the tip
Hi Coach any tips on how to return these deceptive trickshots? thanks
The Ankle Gregker (Breaker) Shot 😂😂
Hey greg, jenny. Whats the difference between this and the regular forehand crossnet? In the regular cross net video that you made, you also show the straight then hit cross. Is the difference just that the shown contact point vs actual hitting point is larger in the trickshot version?
@Ztormrageheero

Its the same shot. Just approaching from a different angle and using body and eyes for deception.
Love you guys !

Cool shot, fan of you both from India.. My suggestion for the shot would be........."Greg Cross". Looking forward for more deception tutorials.
I'd like to call this shot the "drift dexterity". Sounds cool!
At the level where everyone is able to generate power with short swing, every shot looks deceptive. As the receiving side of this kind of deception, I find myself sometimes stuck in place because after my split step my weight goes slightly towards the direction of where I initially thought the shuttle would go. I've often been told by coaches, to not run towards the shuttle, or move towards the shuttle when it hasn't even been hit yet. So "watch the shuttle" But what are your advices against the short swing deception? At 5:44, huang is completely unfazed by the deception. Can you explain how she is able to do so? Is it because she knows that you have the options to play wherever BECAUSE the shuttle is in that green zone?
Great video! The ankle breaker should it be called!
The "Second thought", insightful switch-up. the double cross, front side shuffle, change-of-mind, the missed turn, the separate vacation, the take two, the imposition... that's enough for now :)
imo "delayed forehand cross court shot"goes really well. this could also be done one the backhand side like the one kodai naraoka does but the only difference is that he keeps the racket much more closer and lower and it's mostly done when he is close to the net
i think this would be a great name bamboozle chop by the way love your game keep going
name suggestion, the "lindan" cross court net shot! Or the 'Lindan' :)
I just know that there is optimum height to play this shot. Previously I did this shot but it mostly didn’t work because I did it too low. Thank you.
Well this video cures my need to repeat the trickshot clip over and over.... :D I actually tried this once and yet never again... ahahahaha :D Thanks for the video both of you! You have to try this trickshot again when you match with Zheng and Huang!! :) and hope that Ya Qiong well get bamboozled :) I'd call the shot Cross Court Net Gambit hahahaha

The cross fade!
Your opponent in an upcoming match ends up watching this video before your game…
The Greg’s untouchable 🔥😂
I think this shot is called the up-down-turn-them-around :) Thanks for the video!
@BadmintonInsight

Haha! Thanks - hope you enjoy trying it out 😁
i think the name must be " THE RATTLE CROSS" inspired from rattle snake as it jiggles its tale to attract prey towards it and then at the very perfect time attacks the prey . Similarly this shot attracts the opponent ( can be called prey here) then and the very perfect time boom . BTW i love your videos so much before i found this channel on youtube i thought what if the legend players themselves teach us and then i found you guys . Truly thankful and love from my side .
Call it the L'Greg shot (after Lindan) as you'd mentioned it was inspired from LD
Greg 's trickery shot
Mirage shot is a fitting name for it 😎
❤ i will try this Greg shots❤❤❤❤
The Gregscalibur ! Or maybe the Jenny-crois-pas ('I dont' believe it' in french).
The Greg scrabeler 😂
The GrexFlick: a surprise crosscourt flick
This shot should be called, "Deceptive Cross Drop" i feel like its professional and to the point! Lol ❤
I suggest the name: The forehand frontcourt feint (fff)
Looks like the Mairs Maneuver!

The Rabonna flick 😊

Haha, hopefully nobody is scooping it - that's a fault!
The shot should be called the tricky trap i love your content
The Flick and Flop is perfect. Greg played a flick and the opponents footwork became floppy. Sounds funny also!
i have a name suggestion for that shot (forehand side flick) i tried
How about calling it the "Shuttle Mirage"? It represents the idea of something deceptive, so a perfect name for a trick shot in badminton. 👑👑
The "Greg Cross Court Deception" is the name of this shot
I do a similar shot and my opponents started calling it the "fish hook" but I've done it so often it's just "fish" for short. If you draw a line of the racket movement it looks like a "J", which is what a fish hook looks like. Also instead of coming up with different names for deceptive shots we just started calling all of them "fish". To make it a bit funnier I might call it the "Wednesday special" (or whatever day it is) or give it my name and say the "Jonathan special".
I think the should be named - Night'Mairs Flick or "Net'Mairs" Shot whichever works the best..Because that shot is a night mare for the opponent..... Plus Keep on inventing new stuff...🤩🤩
Greg flick is the name that comes to mind
I employed this in singles, and damn is it effective. I tend to keep the racket a little lower just waiting for what my opponent would do and play this if they come over my way.
The "Scoop and Dupe" shot
1:34 i checked all of these but what if i'm chinese. my eyes can't go too wide. is it still gonna be deceptive enough?
I really enjoyed the video, playing against deceptive players is a "nightmair". The comment section is hilarious coming up with names for the shot. I would love to see a video on how to play against deceptive players in the future.
@BadmintonInsight

Hahaha yeah we are having a great laugh reading through the names - a lot of creative people! 😂
I just got silver in my city's Badminton tournament😢. So I need to implement more deception.
The shot should be called the "Gregory Trickory" 😂 (Just thought of another one: "Misleading Mairs")
This deception shot will be perfect for left hander player againt right hander.
Greg is just performing wizardry
How about "Netline Blitz". I guess this would be great.😄😄😄😄
the no looking cross - like to do that myself 😊
I would call it " The Cross Drift "
That's really smart. It should be named after greg, I nominate "The Gregory Trickery" 😉
I will call it the Gregster😂❤
The “pullback cross drop ”
This shot should be called by its acronym CROWN for CROss Wipe Net shot.
Greg's classic trickshot 😄
Wonderful video. How about calling it the "gotcha cross"
Thanks

Might not sound the greatest but i think Rogue Cross is a good name. The shuttle goes away from where your opponents are expecting. The shuttle goes rogue across the court
The Grim Reaper😂
Can we get a tutorial on top spin shots, the quickest deceptive shots?
The Greg tech
Hi guys love your videos! About the tournament, I secured a Gold and a Bronze medal. I struggled with my movements at times because my back foot wasn’t at the correct position at times. I took your advice when you said “Play to your strengths and ignore the scoreboard.” I had you guys in my mind cheering me on. One person at the tournament told me “Think of your friends Greg and Jenny” because I was a little shaky at times. What were my results? I came 4th in doubles and 1st in Team Relay. I had some really tough matches because I was put in the higher level group. I’m now recovering from the tournament. ❤️
"Broken Ankles" In the video game i play, when we decept someone we call it broken ankles as the opponent many times fall due to inertia of direction
Cross Net Illusion!
Gregs artful shot
The 'slip by' becaus you would always see the shuttle slip by 😁
This shot should be simply called Gazelle. The And Greg is the Gazelle King. I love it
