Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I got a 50 lb. bag of soda and I needed a good bucket to store it in. I am going to be getting into this thing everyday while I working on my next project. I wanted something easy to open and close. So I got a couple of the Leaktite lids.

I bought four of these lids, along with the orange buckets from Home Depot. Mine were outrageously difficult to put on. I ended up setting them in the hot sun for an hour or so to heat up and soften the plastic. Even so, I had to use a rubber mallet and some pretty hard whacks to get the outer rings onto the buckets. They work fine, now that they're installed.

Thanks for sharing! I didn't have that tough of a time installing them but it's good to have some suggestions on what to do if they are really tough to get on like that.

Try to warm it up a little. Put them out in the sun to warm up first. When they are warm they are a little softer and the lids will go on easier,

2x4 across the top works, Rick it back n forth, the 2x4 then use your hands to pop the lil piece in the rim

Very hard to get the seal ring installed. Even using a mallet, I couldn't get in on. I'll try setting it in the sun and try again. The lid is not user friendly.

I live in Arizona so the lid was probably a little softer when I put it on. It gets pretty hot out here. But the nice thing is once you have it on there it is pretty easy to just unscrew the lid when you want to get into the bucket.

I used a 2x4 about 16inches long. Then went around by rocking the 2x4 back n forth

good opening joke. But really I my self go with the 3 1/2 for that resin. I have the gama lid's and I ran into many reports about the leaking water/air. I can tell my garmen's will leak as wen I push on ring it moves and makes squeaking noise. Any idea if the "leaktite" ones are any better ?

Thanks! I have some plans to test these lids out. I still have some soda in them but when it gets down to a little bit left I will really test it out. I could put it in the pool or something like that and see if it leaks.
