One of the most controversial figures in League of Legends history is Ocelote, otherwise known as Carlos. After becoming the star mid laner for SK Gaming in Season 1, Ocelote has always been at the forefront of the League of Legends Esports scene. He was a great mid for a while, but after his skill fell off many people thought Oce was done with Esports - especially when he only returned to form a small amateur Esports team named g2 esports/gamers2

So basicly SK Gaming lead by Ocelote had a sister team renamed later to Fnatic lead by Xpeke. Then Ocelote and Xpeke left their teams to form new organisations Gamers 2 and Origen respectively. That's impressive.

It's so weird that this game has been going on for so long and still going on strong that we can look back and say I was a kid when that happen while some of us are starting families of our own. Never thought that I would play this game for almost 10 years and at this point maybe not as much anymore but going online and playing with the same dumb-asses I meet in HS all those years back and still bonding over it is something that I cherish and will never forget. Even though Riot Games has tried real hard to make me hate the game.

Research about league can only get you so far if you don't actually know what the meta was like back in the day. He completely overstates how oppressive certain items and builds were in early seasons.

I fell in love with SK Gaming and ocelote back in the days. Loved to watch them. And i got heartbroken, when it was over. So heartbroken that in fact I would lose interest in League alltogether - focusing on other parts in life (girls and parties). Much later, a friend invited me to watch the 2019 Worlds with him. He was happy that an EU Team managed to get into the final and his happiness sparked my interest so we had a little watching party. I didn't know much about the team and even the game was completely different due to its graphics and gameplay changes. But then, at some point there was this guy that go interviewed. I had forgotten him already but at this special moment, it all came back to me. He had this joy in his eyes. This man was ocelote ofc and I still remember how happy I was for him. Realizing he made it to the worlds final and fulfilling his dream - not as a player, but as a team owner. Couldn't have wished for a happier ending for a player I once loved.

42:20 there is something extra tragic that is not mentioned here, I remember vividly watching that game live. You can CLEARLY hear Ocelote yell "somebody should stay! Somebody should stay!!" many times as his team storms down mid lane for the win (if you look up the clip it's still on KZread), but sadly it seems the call was ignored for too long. Olaf only recalled as he saw Kassadin TPing to the base, and he makes it to the fountain barely as Kassadin enters the base, catching him already at the nexus. Had someone actually stayed from the beginning, he could have catched him as he was tp-ing in, possible waving some extra crucial damage. The tragedy is Ocelote would be massively made fun of for actual years, a play he predicted would happen, but the team ignored :(

@@kevinstrife7854 ur kidding, right?? This is old Kassadin, he had a point and click silence that would negate any chance for Elise to do anything, not to mention his absurdly high base magic resistance at that moment. There is no way an Elise could have done shit. You could have potentially left Cho behind and match him at the entrance of the base, not at the nexus when he’s already hitting it, and it would have been a completely different story. But the thing is there is no real option to match kassadin’s absurd rift walk (which was twice the range at that moment) and Tankyness.

Well done. I cant believe I sat through an hour watching a story about a game I havent played in over 6 years. Ocelote is one of those people who just sticks with you. His passion and his will to win is so incredible. He was actually never as skilled as most of the people he faced. He just thrived of tournament play, and his passion lifted him to greatness so many times. Just like you said, when the schedule became like a job, his edge was lost. Its nice to see him succeed behind the scene. He definately earned it. And great job on the video!

i don't HATE Ocelote but here's why i don't trust/dislike Ocelote: in 2014 EU challenger series, G2 wasn't doing all that great. At least compared to Ninjas in Pyjamas, which had a pretty insane roster at that time. The most famous players were Alex Ich, Freeze and Nukeduck but a lot of their success was helped by their very talented jungler, k0u. In the early games, NiP dominated the games with incredibly high KDAs on their carries. At some point however, the team started frequently misplaying, doing questionable calls and losing. k0u later left the team to join Ocelote's G2. Freeze then provided some insight via a facebook post explaining why their later games were looking so bad and turns out that most of their efforts were sabotaged by k0u. He mentions changes of attitude, including refusal to communicate during scrims, doing solo actions which backfired and the result of this was just feeding the enemy challenger teams. The sudden change reportedly started occuring shortly after k0u's meetings in G2's gaming house. This could all be on k0u. We can no longer ask him because he sadly commited suicide last year. Nevertheless, Ocelote poses as a very shady figure in this scenario. He may be a passionate player and he cares to reach success through hard work for which i respect him, but he is also a businessman and that's not exactly a field for sportsmanship. That being said, nobody is flawless and I may be biased because I really rooted for NiP back then but I also wish Ocelote and G2 the success they have reached since. Europe winning the worlds was amazing even for me and I don't even watch the competitive scene anymore.

Dude, watching this video litterally gave me goosebumps ! I've been following compettive since season 1 world championship and always my fav player has been ocelote. His streams, playstyle,he is the one who basicly got me into grinding into LoL. And kept on doing it when he moved on to form Gamers2 now known as G2. Thanks you for bringing so much good moments !

As a former WoW player and with a great competitive spirit, this video made me cry. The evolution of this wonderful man is nothing short of amazing. From a good arena player to owning one of the best, if not the best team in the world. G2 has always and will always be the team that takes out all the emotions from me, whether it's joy or sadness. Thank you Gbay. Thank you for making such great content that we can enjoy in this rough conditions. Keep up the great work!
