Explained in a beautiful way. Emotional intelligence is what a person needs in every situation, whether workplace or personal life.

Excellent video and great reminder. It made me think of the phrase "rise above it" when given as advice to someone dealing with an emotional conflict. The idea of rising above a situation in order to separate from emotion and zoom out to gain a wider perspective seems useful.

Dealing with emotions in everyday life is an important task. It also sometimes becomes very important when you have to take some strong decisions which may affect your life in the long run. We should be capable enough to analyse our own emotions like motivation, fear, limitations and strain. I believe that with growing globalization, cross cultures, complexity of emotions becomes more critical. Speaking about emotional intelligence, I would like to mention an incident. I was the organizer of a fundraising event in my college. Due to some unforeseen reasons, we could not manage to get enough registrations and hence one day I scolded my juniors, which I later realized was unjust from my side. I started researching and trying to find out the root cause by interacting with them on a regular basis and also motivating them. They were really happy with my attitude towards them and they started working enthusiastically. We soon reached our target and I was self content at that moment. It is therefore very necessary to have the ability to accept yourself, become assertive, take the responsibility for your team when needed and be flexible and impulsive. Thus, at last I would like to conclude by saying we should try and understand our emotions as well as of others for a better life.

An emotionally intelligent person who owns the ability to manage their own happiness is going to be better equipped to go out into the world and make it a better place. Education is key and it should start with children already. That's why emotional Intelligence should be taught at schools ASAP.

i disagree with the feel decision making. One analyzes the situation and based on pure subjective outcome, a decision is made. If all outcomes seem similar, its when experience and gut feeling is warranted

Interesting but this puts all the onus on the employee and thus all the responsibility of it not working on the employee. The fact is that business models need to change to incorporate time to acknowledge and listen to employees emotions at all levels and between themselves. This can be achieved but only as a team with employees, managers and directors getting on board.

EQ comes with maturity and wisdom add IQ and mindfulness to the total sum of high brain functioning..These things can be learned, omit IQ this will not change...Program your brain for discernment this requires learning many subjects on life and the primary reader that's all books are written in part is the King James holy bible you will find the right path in Gods word..he will teach discernment and wisdom..John 3:16

Truth be told, I've never been a fan of the concept of "emotional intelligence. "Emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize and control your emotions and behavior while remaining aware of the effect that these have on others around you." If you subscribe to the idea of "EQ" this is a must read. www.huffingtonpost.com/amy-brann/the-neuroscience-of-emotional-intelligence_b_9331292.html?
