Artist Bio: The name Leading 2 Follow (L2F) is open to individual interpretation; it carries a different meaning for everyone. One such interpretation is related to society's constant need to find value in "likes" and "follows" which begs the question, "Are you leading merely to be followed or is there meaning behind your desire?"
Leading 2 Follow hails from the mountains of western North Carolina and was formed in 2020 by four long-time friends with various musical backgrounds and influences.
Lead vocalist and lyricist, Phil Carland writes with passion and honesty. His evocative lyrics are derived from real life experiences that everyone can relate to. Combine that with powerful guitar riffs from Matt Anderson, groovy bass lines by Jason Hermann, and in-your-face-drum beats by Jared Morrow and you have a musical style that has listeners reminiscing about the old days of nu-metal and alternative rock, while also enjoying the present day styles of screamcore and djent.
Their first release, a four song EP, entitled 'The Contrast' is a quick example of all songs in their repertoire that accentuate their passion for the music they create.
