Technically she hit the notes, singing from the bottom. Artistically, she justified her part. Singing and acting and feeling all at the very same time. Eyes and face were exuding the every emotion of the lyrics. Others who sang this, either on being so technical, or missed the emotional obligation. She was truly an artist who deserves a spotlight.

Hi, the reason why her reaction is like that is because she is also acting her role as Eponine. She realized that Marius will never love her the way he loves Cosette; that she is just a friend to him. Eponine is one of the miserables. She cannot smile even there are applauses and a standing ovation because she is portraying her role as Eponine showing hopelesness, bitterness and lonliness..not because she thinks she is good. Please watch the whole 10th Anniversary of Les Miserables. Also please never compare her to Regine Velasquez. Both are great but they are different. Broadway is Different.

I respect your opinion but please do a research about the technicalities of theatre. You clearly lack knowledge about it and I totally disagree with your opinion, it's so absurd. I'm sorry.

They're not singers so we expect that all their reactions are only based on how the song affected them as audience. And if they do some research that's totally fine but IDK they might not fully understand it coz they're not professionals.

Someone who can represent the Philippines very well. She's classy, smart, transparent and talented humab being. I adore her with all my heart, the whole personality, not just the voice.

Duhh? Why would you compare a Tony award-winning Broadway legend to a mainstream singer? Both of them had made their own names on different genres. Leah has been the voice of iconic characters of Disney like Mulan and Princess Jasmine.

I guess before you make a comparison between Lea Salonga and Regine Velasquez (though I think that there should be no comparison to be made), do a research on them. Comparing them with each other is like comparing a rock to a water, it will not make any sense at all. Both very strong but under a totally different league of their own.

She is definitely my most favorite Eponine. There are others who played the role and doing a great job too but Lea is untouchable in my heart. She portrayed it the best and no matter how many Eponine's I have watched, i always pictured the character in Lea as the real Eponine 😍😍😍

This reaction makes it obvious that they’re just doing this for money, without any validation or justification that they know anything about music....stupidity at its finest!

Regine Velasquez also auditioned on Miss Saigon but rejected and they picked Lea Salonga instead, she's incomparable to any other singers in the Philippines. And she's the only Asian singer who performed in OSCARS and that's when her song " A WHOLE NEW WORLD" won as the best song and best musical score...☺

Edrick Salagubang From what I read, She wasn't rejeced. She didnt attend the final audition since she knew she wont be accepted as she lacked experience. Anyway, the producer of Miss Saigon (Claude Schonberg) kept contact with her through the years and even produced a duet of her and British tenor Russell Watson last 2015 with Live With Somebody you love. :)

THE REASON WHY REGINE COULD NOT COMMIT WAS DUE TO HER CONTRACT FROM ANOTHER RECORD LABEL AND SHE HAD CONCERTS THAT SHE ALREADY AGREED TO DO

Dennis Ravago and regine had also commitments that time..training also in another country means that she needs to leave her dad which I dont think she will be able to do (given the fact that she was dependent on her dad)...I still trust the statement of Jaime Rivera who said that Regine was the first choice and not her

Regine is a league of her own she's a performer and FYI after Lea she was also offered to Broadway but declined the offer. Asia's Songbird is highest and best selling artist to date. Regine never trade her nationalities to get exposures abroad, unlike other artist like Gary Lea Zsazsa Martin were all American citizen but Regine was able to get notice by best vocal singer songwriters with likes of Alicia Keys Brian Mcknight Jim Brickman Michel Legrand etc

Hi, i was watching the 10th year anniv concert of Les Mis and Lea Salonga's part when i saw your vid among those that appear on my feed. I like how chill and organic your reactions are, not too animated. Because that is how i was when watching her. Loved this reaction vid. Keep on guys. From a NYC based pinoy.

Finally! i've been requesting for this. :-) A whole new world (Aladdin) Reflection (Mulan)

One of the things what I really liked about this performance is her portrayal of Eponine. I have always loved Frances Rufelle's version as a child and then I was introduced to this version later on and it wasn't my cup of tea. Years later when I was able to watch and listened to many Eponines, I decided to go back to Lea's rendition just out of whim. It was at that time I was able to appreciate Lea's Eponine which has a different interpretation. True, I feel like this performance isn't Lea's full-force performance compared to her Kim in Miss Saigon ( a role that showcased her vocal and acting talents that made her a star), but she did well. Compared to On my Own, my fave performance of Lea in the 10th anniversary was a duet with Michael Ball, "A Little Fall of Rain". It's not a vocally challenging piece , but it was bitter-sweet. I hope you will also react to it or if not, react to Lea's Miss Saigon performances notably "I'd give my life for you"(There's a polished version but I prefer the amateur video version).

Lea Salonga sang the original Reflection soundtrack from Mulan. She is amazing in her own caliber.

Regine is a good singer and belter, Lea is a technical singer, the opening of the mouth and the clarity of words. She still have that voice up to now even her Jasmine's voice in Aladdin (react on it with Brad Kane and also with El Divo). It is evident that some of our good belters before already deterriorated their quality of singing. Lea still have it.

She's a perfect Singer... Golden Voice...Amazing.

She always saying on the voice that theater singing is very different cause you have to tell a story and so on and so on.... And now seeing this i can understand why... I love the way Lea portrays Eponine. Most actresses act the way like “he doesn’t love me, feel bad for me” kinda way. That’s why I’m not a huge fan of Samantha Barks when it’s comes to Eponine.
