Lea Francis 14 4-door Saloon 1951 Walkround
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This is a 1951 car, built by Lea Francis from Warwickshire. Its the 4 door all-aluminium body saloon, with the original 1800cc twin cam engine - which was well advanced for its time. Its very rare now, although there is a thriving owners club. Lea Francis closed their doors in 1962, but the company was renowned for building innovative luxury cars.
It drives beautifully, and although not required by law, it has an MOT until March 2022.
Being aluminium the body is completely rust free, but it does have some aluminium corrosion in places which is cosmetic. You'll see it on the pictures. It completely sound underneath, it passed its MOT with no advisories and has clearly been well looked after in its 70 years.
Its far from being concours, or a show car, but won't be put to shame at club meets or events. For a fine-driving, mechanically excellent car of this era with current MOT its a fantastic start to classic car ownership.

Lovely!
I can just about hear young Steph's commentary as she goes round a great old car like that one. It's just gotta be one of hers for the coming year I'd deffo say so.
Wonder what it's like inside the boot.
And a Harry Rose engine! What engineer or enthusiast could ask for more!

@@gennettor8915 Yes I like that. I do find it disappointing that so many of his Riley engines etc are now found in extraordinary vehicles they were not designed for. If you are going to rebody a vehicle at least do it in the format of the day which would have probably been a woody. They were not all designed to be sports variants and we are losing too many saloons!
Can anybody tell me how to remove the steering wheel of such a car?
