Ok I've been watching these Voice of the Philippines videos for a few days (because I love Lea Salonga), but it's also been interesting listening to them talk. I speak English and Spanish, so it's like I hear about every 3rd or 4th word that is familiar or at least recognizable (not always just English and Spanish either), mixed in with a bunch of what I guess are Filipino words that I do not understand at all. Is that how everyone speaks in the Philippines? It's fascinating, like some kind of creole language.

Arundodonax yup, it is fascinating. some of the words are basically spanish with a little bit of difference in pronunciation.

Our native language borrowed a lot of spanish words so, they're basically only speaking Filipino and English, much like saying "I'm going to a cafe right now." is pure English with a borrowed word from French -- but 'cafe' is still considered an English word.

I like them both. No one else from the other competitors can do so much with what they showed. Perfect blending! Songs were coming out from their hearts. I had teary eyes :(

Best battle round for me since they both sound so beautifully and it didn't feel like they were trying to compete with one another. Rather, they both enjoyed the song and lifted each other up to produce this very heartfelt rendition. Their performance was very sincere.

GOD bless these two singers and the coaches too. GOD bless us all always

both deserve to reach the finals. i will miss you Taw and hope to see you again in Season 2.

Kung pwede sana hindi pinagtapat ang parehong magaling sa unang battle round! Para sa finals ang matitira,ang talagang magagaling at may boses na inilalaban!
