As an ex Australian Infantry solider we have a saying or an Ode we say to remember our fallen "They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them." Time to stand down Mate, Your duty is done R.I.P LCPL Haley I thank you for your service

The Marine stood and faced God Which must always come to pass He hoped his shoes were shining Just as brightly as his brass. "Step forward Marine, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To My Church have you been true?" The Marine squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't Because those of us who carry guns Can't always be a saint. I've had to work most Sundays And at times my talk was tough, And sometimes I've been violent, Because the world is awfully rough. But, I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep... Though I worked a lot of overtime When the bills got just too steep. And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear, And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears. I know I don't deserve a place Among the people here, They never wanted me around Except to calm their fears. If you've a place for me here, Lord, It needn't be so grand, I never expected or had too much, But if you don't, I'll understand." There was a silence all around the throne Where the saints had often trod As the Marine waited quietly, For the judgment of his God. "Step forward Marine, You've borne your burdens well, Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets, You've done your time in Hell."

As a father of two Marines, my heart goes numb when I see this. I do however see that they live for something that I can't relate to because I never served in any branch of the military. My appreciation goes directly to this Marine for being as real as life can expect. I'm always going to remember this video due to its reality on behalf of sacrifice for our country. Never will forget this name because this name didn't forget our reason for living in the greatest country in the world. Thank you Cody for your service & your sacrifice!!!! Gratitude for a life well lived & a heart of a lion protecting its pride. Goodbye Marine!!

Sir, I am proud to be in a family where five uncle served in the Army, Korea to Viet Nam, two uncles in the Air Force and one uncle in the Navy, my father served in WWII in the Navy and then in the Marine Corps in Korea, my brother served in the Navy and I myself in the Air Force. We all beleive we served in the best branch but in the end, we are all brothers and sisters, and to attack one, is to attack all. I pray for Cody's family at their loss and for you, as a father of two Marines and all families with loved ones in the Armed Services. I do miss my dad and the talks we had. I took him to see the US Marine Corps Memorial in Arlington, he was in wheel chair then and was proud to see the young Marines come up to him and shake his hand.

My father received the Silver Star for his actions in the Philippines against the Japanese in WWII while he was in the U.S. Navy. Luckily he survived and had 7 children. 5 sons, and 2 daughters. His eldest son went into the Army, 2nd went into the Air Force, 3rd went into the Coast Guard, 4th went into the Army, and I went into the Marines. He taught us that everyone deserved to have the same freedoms that we as Americans had, so all of his sons stood up to try and help gives those freedoms anywhere and everywhere. Sadly, we failed. However, I appreciate your kind words and it was my pleasure to do my best.

May God protect all those serving and those of us still here and may he say to Cody from us all that we thank not only him but ALL those who now join him in heaven for their service and the freedom we enjoy today. Beautiful sendoff for LCpl Haley. That uniform of ours, the one that is vastly recognized in all corners of the world more than any other, epitomizes so much elation and accomplishment in earning it but at times embodies pain and agony. Now mine hangs away, resting and quiet but there is not a day that goes by that I dont think about it and all the things that will forever remain within its seams and colors. Rest well devil dog and God bless the family. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Nothing brings tears to my old eyes than to see a Hero honored as we do. Some might be concerned with the money Police, Fire Departments and other local governments have to spend to make this recognition happen. My comparison is what did that Hero pay? He or She paid everything, far exceeding any government. I am completely satisfied that my government honors our fallen Heroes, and if that means more taxes, then so be it. We still do not do enough for these Men and Women and their families and friends. These Heroes were loaned to the U.S. Government to serve, but something went wrong. The United States will be forever in debt to the families and to that person being honored! For the 56 that gave this a thumbs down, you must be heartless, I pray God opens your eyes!

As I grow older (56), I am amazed at the respect I am still shown for wearing military service clothing. We truly live in a blessed culture. May God CONTINUE to bless our nation.

I served twenty nine years in Bothell the Corps and the Army. I've lost many friends in the service of our country and to this day I still cry when I see such tributes. It's not weakness but compassion and love for my comrades in arms that causes me to weep. Thank you for your sacrifice. Keep the faith.
