Has to be "D" or 1,800. None of the other choices make any sense. In calculating the first denominator I got 600. So already you can eliminate a, b, and c. You don't even need to calculate the other denominator

Super simple no need for dumb luck or the bow tie method. A lot of fun if you know your 9's table. (Holy shite 9 really is the Chuck Norris of the first 10 numbers) we have exponents in the denominator so (2^3) * (5^2) * (3^2) that is 8 * 25 * 9. 8 * 25 is 200. 200 * 9 is 1800. Let us prove this is the LCD by finding the actual denominators for each fraction. First fraction is 8 * 3 * 25. This gives us 600 for the first fraction. Now the second fraction 2 * 9 * 5. This is 18 * 5 which is 90. 600 * 2 is 1200 which if you KNOW your 9's table can NOT be evenly divided by 90. However, 600 * 3 is 1800 which can be evenly divided by 90. This proves the lcd is 1800. Bonus solve the problem First fraction is 1/600 second fraction is 1/90. The LCD is 1800 so 3/1800 + 20/1800 is 23/1800. As always calculators, multiple choice and "scrap" paper is for students that have weak math skills. It is tough and it takes a lot of practice, but if a learning disabled fat slob like me can do it so can you. (I am actually technically legally retarded and I am not trying to insult anyone else. I am just trying to motivate you)

If you know the prime factors than the lcd is a combination that includes the maximum number of prime factors used by each denominator So it would be (2^2)*(3^2)*(5^2)

Well .. although the LCD of 2 3 and 5 is 30 .. 5^2 is already 25 .. so it's not that What we are actually looking for is the LCD of 8 9 and 25 .. which is 1800

Too many words. I thought this would be an interesting refresher, I’ve always enjoyed math, but have forgotten a lot of it. If you just get to the bottom line more quickly, I would be able to stick with it.

Set video speed to 2X and he sounds normal. And save 1/2 your time. Edit: Plus I skip past the intro where he says he's been teaching math for 3000 years, and then skip again when he goes on his subscribe rant. Saves even more time.

@@larrnew you are absolutely right, it’s the method used to solve the problem rather than the final answer. Perhaps I have a short attention span. The part where he goes through the logic that a person might use to get the wrong answers doesn’t seem absolutely necessary.
