The Lexington Broadcast Services Company (a.k.a LBS Communications) was a television production and syndication company founded in 1976 by advertising pioneer Henry Siegel. The company was known for distributing programs from DIC Entertainment and Columbia Pictures Television, by way of its Colex Enterprises joint venture with Columbia, in addition to the 1991 syndicated re-launch of Baywatch. Around the time that the joint venture with Columbia Pictures Entertainment ended in 1988, LBS began to lose money, and in December 1991, LBS filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. As a result, the company ended up having to sell between 80 and 85 percent of its assets to its Baywatch distributor partner, the Scotti Brothers' All American Television.

Back in the day, if I was watching Nickelodeon... inspector gadget was on... and that logo came on... that immediately meant it was time for bed.

A LOT of Nickelodeon's early syndicated programming came from these guys. Inspector Gadget, Maple Town, Heathcliff, The Monkees, etc. Surprised they never aired Superfriends or Kidd Video.

I think that’s because those companies made two well-known animated series together. (Heathcliff and the Catillac Cats and Inspector Gadget.)
The LBS logo from 1976-1984 is at the end of Strawberry Shortcake in Big Apple City on my Strawberry Shortcake DVD.

The VHS tape probably got messed up while it was sitting there for like 30 20 some years it is really old so that’s why it sounds so terrible

As a 90’s kid I always keep hearing 70s/80s were “scared” of logos. No logo ever scared me and I watched a lot of old cartoons with this logo as well. Why was this the case?

@@erikbunty2016 My experience was pretty similar as a late 90s/2000s kid. It was mostly the jumpscare factor that got to me back then.

help find the missing claster logo. about 1.5 seconds long, spinning star, has a melody that uses an instrument similar to the Windows XP error sound (but softer and mellower) it's probably some kind of synth.

I wonder what computer was used to render the third LBS logo?
the first logo is actually from 1981. the rising synth sound in the first "pan out" logo is an unmistakable 80s sound. definitely not from '76.
