Is the church-age believer obligated to obey the Old Testament Law? Should we observe Sunday as the Christian Sabbath? What about tithing? In this short book, Halsey tackles these questions and more. Laying Down the Law treats the believer’s relationship to the Law with thoroughness, using an abundance of illustrations to make what could have been a dry treatise into an interesting read. His conclusions are spot on. This book should be helpful for the serious believer seeking to lead a more godly life.

In some places, legalism is alive and well. I do find many church members don't exactly follow what the preacher says. I would enjoy talking more about B.J.U. I had a professor in college who attended Bob Jones for a higher degree. I think it influenced their theology (that was after she began teaching elsewhere.) I would add, Dr. Halsey also had in mind to warn non legalists what to look for. Thanks for your excellent review.

It comes up in my teaching all the time. I feel like I have a very wide breadth to draw from one when I instruct others. It also helps in counseling. I can't count the number of times that I could give advice because even though I didn't have personal experience, I have read someone that has.
