Hi Rob! Great info you are sharing!❤️ Please, can you give me your thoughts about my routine?(AM)TO's glycolic acid toner, mist with SDSM2, argireline, Matrixyl, MMHC2, survival 0, cicaplast b5 spf50. PM: cleanse&massage, argireline, cais2, RE pigment, MMHC2, cicaplast b5 mixed with an oil. Extras: Saturday morning Myrrh clay mask followed by my AM routine. Sunday by afternoon, wash face with water and apply TO's vitC 23%. I am waiting for Ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate 20% in Vita F to arrive to use at my AM routine, where should I put it? After or before MMHC2? Don't know where to put the retinol🤔... Sorry by the big text

Hey Rob! I was hesitant because I'll introduce a toner and an essence (to increase the hydration) and I didn't know when to do it with the exfoliation. Thanks to you, I think I'll go with the toner and essence after, so I can also use the serum of centella/peptides of purito without risking it to degrade. Does it make sense? Thanks for everything, I love love love your videos !

You are Sooooo refreshing. Here in the US, we have many accents, languages and cultures. But there's just something about the English accent that's so appealing and nice to listen to. At 72 years of age, my goodness, I'm realizing that there is more to skincare than moisturizer. Your presentation of every skincare line is far superior to other analysts. Thank you so much for making my chase for beauty a little easier. You make tutorials fun!

I've recently discovered your channel and I enjoy your passion as well as data and new perspective for me.. Thing is.. As far as I know.. No skincade product should go on top of sunscreen in order not to tamper with its protection power..!!!!!! No matter organic or mineral.. Sunscreen is always the last step! That's as far as I know.. And I'm sure you're more knowledgeable than me! Thanks for everything good 🌹

11:27 - Hey Rob, I'm sooooo confused why you're recommending applying moisturizer & oils on the skin AFTER sunscreen? 😱🥺 Because all the experts advise that sunscreen is always the last step of your skincare routine, no matter if it's mineral or chemical. I'm glad that since you're so oily that you're not doing this 😊

Thanks for the video! Everything is explained very well. I first learned about the correct order of product application as a teenager when I went to a training given by AVON. I know that is a MLM and I’m not even sure if they still exist but the information I learnt there still stands today and aligns with what you’re saying. Also it has the fist certificate that I ever got for following a training or seminar so it felt so cool back then. :D Keep up the good work :)

(Or they would work better separately?) For example rosehip and tamanu oil? Or jojoba oil? Or is it just to much? And I may not get the best affect from each of them? And another question... Winter is coming soon. And I do want to put on a sunscreen even in winter....any recommendations for light low spf winter sunscreen? Thank you sooo much!!! We are back in quarantine here in Israel sooo your videos just make my day! Stay well and safe! Daphna

Hey Rob thanks for a great video! Idk if this has been asked before , I Know people always ask how to layer skincare but I think what alot of people are Wondering is what products work best with what and in what order to put them , and also if there am or pm products , example , like niacinamide , vitamin c, alpha arbutin , alzelic acid can those be layered in same routine ? So not necessarily what order as in cleansing , toning , essence serum etc but what order and what products can be mixed together ! Does that make sense and if anybody else is wondering same please like comment! TIA much love 💕😘

Hey hun thank you so so much for watching and supporting the channel.. Thats a great question and I would fit it in after your exfoliation and before your serums if it is a serum mask.. If it is a moisturising mask then you should use it after your serums. I hope this makes sense.

I thought that exfoliating acids should be applied on dry skin to avoid chemical burns, since moisture help them penetrate deeper.... So I always use exf. acids after cleansing (I wait about 15 minutes for my skin to dry) and toner as third step (I have mild rosacea and this helps soooo much in keeping my skin barrier healthy!!!). I also love mixing facial oil with moisturiser 🥰🥰🥰

  • @MadAboutSkin

    @MadAboutSkin

Hey hun thank you so much for watching and sharing.. It is not strictly true that water causes exfoliators to work deeper in fact a lot of exfoliators (such as the ordinary toning solution) contain water.. I do think if you have super sensitive skin or rosacea as a precaution making sure your skin is dry is not a bad idea.. I love adding my facial oil to my moisturiser to kick it up a notch :) such a nice combo xxx

So helpful and informative. I often get bogged down on the layering order and get very confused since different companies make recommendations which often contradict each other. This video is very straightforward and easy to implement without getting too caught up on what the product does, but rather looking at the base that the actives are formulated with.

I know it's been a few months, but you can just check the ingredients list for the filters. There are only 2 mineral filters, zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, so if you see either one it's a mineral sunscreen (or a hybrid, if there is also a chemical filter). If neither is part of the formulation, its definitely a chemical sunscreen

Aww thank you so so much for watching and for your lovely comment.. I would actually recommend she go back to the derm as with the pimples being around the hairline it is possible that it is fungal acne and a reaction to something which she is using on her hair. Fungal acne needs totally different treatment and a professional diagnosis so would be worth looking into that if its an option.. Keep me posted as I would love to know what the outcome is xx

Great questions hun and you can indeed use a lotion before a moisuriser to get some more hydration... Spot treatments go on after everything has sunk in at the end and amplues are just another posh way of saying serum so go in that step... sending lots of love xxxx

Lovely video. I use my salicylic acid serum/ toner in the daytime because I’m extremely oily and I use Retin-A at night for my acne. I’m worried it will have negative side effects in the long run but, apparently salicylic acid has photo-protective benefits. What do you think?

Hey hun thank you so much for watching and thats a fantastic question.. I dont think it should be problematic in the long term as your right in lower doses SA can be calming in the skin and so I wouldnt worry as you dont seem to be over using it xx

Hello! Another great video! Do you know if I can use benzoyl peroxide with lactic acid? Also can I use ''Buffet'' + Copper Peptides 1% after lactic acid and Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F? Thanks SO much!!

Hey hun I hope all is amazing with you.. You can use the BP with a lactic acid no problem.. If you would like to use the buffet in the same routine then I would use the lactic acid then the ascorbyl and then the peptides as this will buffer then and make sure that they are not denatured by the lactic acid.. I hope this helps xxx

Hi hun and thanks for watching... no you dont need a toner, it can be a nice step but you can get lots of benefits from other non toner steps. love x

Great video! However, are you 100% sure about using moisturizer OVER chemical spf? Any studies you can recommend? I haven't heard anyone recommending it this way. Instead, wait a bit for the moisturizer to absorb and then follow with spf, chemical or physical.

Hey hun thank you so much for watching and thats a great question.. I really doesnt make a huge difference which way around you apply them as the key thing is that the chemical spf gets in contact with the skin and a moisturiser wont prevent that from happening.. Whilst there are no specific studies done on using it either before or after moisturiser most companies say either is fine and the key thing is to wear it.. It comes down to personal preference and I like it to be closer to my skin without the layer of moisturiser but you will be protected either way around... I hope that makes sense and one way of not having the issue is to find an spf hydrating enough that you dont need a moisturiser, although that is not always possible for people with very dry skin xx

@@MadAboutSkin thanks!💜 I'm mostly going for a moisturizing spf as I'm combination, like Klairs, Purito, Canmake or my fave Anessa milk. I was just wondering in principle 😁

Do I need to double cleanse if my sunscreen is chemical and super light - as in I can't even feel it on my skin?

Hey hun thanks for watching and that's a great question.. I dont think you do need to.. Double cleansing is great if you don't feel a grl cleanser gets everything off in one go but if you're does and you wear a lightweight chemical sunscreen then i don't think you need to xx

I heard niacinamide neutralizes exfoliants so you shouldn’t use them in the same routine... is that true?
