LAYERING & BLENDING Skin Tones in Real-Time with Colored Pencil (Drawing Tips)
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
@BMDPortraits Shares tips on layering & blending skin tones in real-time with colored pencil. On this video i show how to draw realistic portrait with colored pencil. This is my complete drawing process and some helpful drawing tips. This drawing tutorial video is done in real time so you will have a chance to see how i build skin tone particularly the nose part. The colored pencil that i use on this realistic portrait drawing is my ultimate favorite, the Faber Castell Polychromos. This drawing tutorial video aims to reach colored pencil artists, young and old and beginners because it does not only show the actual drawing process in real time but also some important drawing tips that they can apply to their own journey in studying portraiture using colored pencil. The paper that i use here is Strathmore Bristol 400 series Smooth Surface. And my reference photo is Hollywood actor Chris Pratt from the upcoming Movie 'Jurassic World 3'. Hope you all like it!

Do you always used the green magenta violet and dark blue as basecolors with the normally skin tones? Or how do you select the colors the build up the skin?
This is wholesome! I'll watch it on repeat till I can grasp a few key concepts. Thank you.

I find it easier to establish dark shadows first and see the shapes and features....I take time to analyze and study my reference photo then pre pick the colors that i might need, but I do adjustments along the way

Nice movie, how do you choose the colors that you need? Normally you think that you use standard colors that you show in the beginning of this movie. What Is the reason you used green, violet, purple etc?
@BMDPortraits

it all depends on my reference photo, the reason why i use colors that seem odd, is because i draw what i see and not what i know....i study my reference photo b4 i even start, to get as close 2 my reference as possible.
