    If you inserted a dowel or pin in the centre hole on the first/bottom layer, you would have had a perfect alignment guide for the subsequent layers. There would have been no need to eyeball it.

    Sweet! I have a CNC router, not a laser, so I've been wondering the process you laser folks use to make something like this 🙂 Turned out great, thanks for sharing. Also, I'll point out that it's an octagon and not a hexagon before someone rude comes along and says it 😅
