    I'm an Australian law student as well and completely agree with taking it down a notch when you need to! Law, like medicine or engineering, or any rigorous study program, is really a marathon and not a race. Love that more people in law are talking about how essential it is to monitor and where necessary take action to protect your mental health :)

    Good on you for posting this, thank you! I'm 36, a stay at home dad to 2 kids under 4 and run my own business. I started my JD last week and having watched this video feel good about my choice. Appreciate the tips and advice. Ill update you in 6 years time when its all over.

    I have found being a mature aged student, studying law at 31, it has been a lot less perceived pressure. The break from rote learning in secondary education allows an easier introduction to the legal reasoning. I feel bad for the younger students that are determined to pick the 'right' side of a case, rather than focusing on the development of quality argument for both participants. Tl;dr Focus on a sound argument, rather than the correct outcome.

    hey i am the same age and ive completed 4 units so far from my law degree, any tips on how i can better my writing skills and legal reasoning. I agree with you on the pressure and stress part i dont feel it like when i was younger.

    I read this one: Mastering Law Studies and Law Exam Techniques, 10th edition by Richard Krever xx Keep in mind it is by an Australian author and law is different all over the world
