2 of their children are adopted but they also have 1 biological child. They decided to adopt due to her first labor being bad. She needed an emergency c-section.

It is pretty cool considering the fact they met on the show back in I believe 2001 when he first started doing guest spots as a defense attorney

You can literally tell they were smiling at each other before they even spoke. Loveeeee them.

Yea August was born in 2006 and then they adopted Amaya and Andrew in 2011 (they were only six months apart but technically Amaya is the older of the two since she was born first) she said in an interview once that after August was born she wanted to get pregnant again but her OB-GYN advised her against it since her pregnancy was so rough on her (she suffered from high blood pressure, and the stress of filming the show during pregnancy combined with bad eating habits caused her to gain like 30 or 40 lbs and be diagnosed with gestational diabetes which all led to her going into preterm labor and having a c-section) so she and Peter decided to go the route of adoption to grow their family….they adopted Amaya in April of 2011 and then Andrew joined the family about six months later in October of that year

I always love it when celebrities appear in tv shows and movies with their real life parents and spouses.

Benson has really grown and developed into her character and new role. Proud of her. Still miss Stabler, Amaro and Munch. They were great supporters in her, over all, development.

Don't forget Cragen. He also played a big role in Benson's development. Also, little did they know, Stabler had returned to the NYPD that very same year to become NYPD's Liaison and was assigned to work in Rome, Italy.

Oh yea I remember that case I think Calvin’s grandmother was raped back in the 70’s and his mother was a product of that plus his mom was an addict and alcoholic who ditched him at the station after the man who allegedly raped her mother was found beaten to death (turns out the killer was her female friend/lover who ended up being killed by Calvin’s father cause he blamed her for not only the relationship between him and Vivian going south but also for not getting Vivian the help she needed to get sober) and she had signed over temporary guardianship to Olivia (Calvin’s father was a former addict as well who had been in and out of his life pretty much since he was a toddler so he couldn’t be trusted) but then when the mother came back and she decided to go to rehab, she voided the guardianship papers she sent to Olivia and Calvin went to go stay with his father’s parents…the case worker ripped Calvin right out of Olivia’s arms in the middle of the precinct so when Sheila first showed up and was trying to have her adoption of Noah declared void (she wasn’t able to get it since she had waited till nearly three years after the adoption was finalized but I believe she was allowed to file for visitation) she was probably thinking about what happened with Calvin and I don’t think she would’ve been able to handle it if the judge took Noah away from her

These are the cruel realities of adopting children in this country. The courts tend to favor biological parents and family at just about any cost. This is why people seek adoption from foreign countries. There is little likelihood that family will change their minds. The system is flawed when a person can basically abandon a child and then family members who have had no contact with a child can later seek custody.

Sheila didn’t know about Olivia or Noah because Ellie told the detectives that both of her parents were dead & they couldn’t find any relatives for Noah so judge Linden ask Olivia if she want to take custody of Noah for a year & adopted him in the season 16 finale. I’m glad that Judge Linden denied Sheila request to overturn the adoption because it been 5 years ( Olivia mentioned that Noah was 5) since Noah was in Olivia care.

umm, i don't think you understand what adoption is. you can't adopt your own child, so by default you adopt someone else's child---that's why it's called adoption.

@Brian Ellington, Adoption is when you adopt another person child if something happens to the biological parents kinda like how you adopt a dog or cat. Judge Linden was the one who gave Olivia custody of Noah. Even if Olivia & Noah DNA doesn’t match biologically , Noah is still Olivia son & Olivia will always be his mother.
