The bullet will show what gun it came from. I am guessing most cops carry the same ammo, 9MM hollow point. The suspect, if he was armed, likely had a ..22 caliber. , An untrained shooter shooting at a cop has a 1 in 1000 chance of hitting him in the head. But a cop in front of 8 other cops all firing like they are Dirty Harry, stands a much higher chance of being a victim of friendly fire.

@@mischaraine1645 The local news station said very clearly the suspect RAN to the car and shot the officer then took off. But then 1 hour later, the Chief was clear in saying " exchanging of gunfire". I am not a cop or journalists or medic and that sounded way outside the normal type of wording to use.

Big Ups to the lady at 2:46. She said it all, and God Bless her!! My Condolences to the Family, Friends, and Loved Ones of this Fallen Officer. May He Rest In Peace.

What a shame. I really think this was friendly fire. This happens too much. Can you imagine getting killed by a sloppy co-worker? Something should be done to shut down these firing squads. You don't open up like that if there is an officer standing near the suspect.

The carefully chosen words of the chief are the only ones I deem worth hearing. TV stations know nothing. Those words said - Exchange of gunfire - only. I heard no comment saying the suspect's gun killed the cop. Does anyone think a suspect after being in a chase, runs up to a police car and shoots a cop in the head? Does is make more sense the lead cop was in the field of fire with 10 cops firing guns behind him and got hit?
