Incredible. Loved the contrast between the interior and exterior color/lighting. The acting was superb as well. Well done.

Thanks for sharing! It amazes me how much has changed and not changed since the 1950's, relationships, men of power having affairs with "young" naive people....and the biggest one that I noticed...also including some of the motel room furnishing...lol Why didn't the kid iron that shirt, so that it would have "looked" 1950's, not fresh out of a recent day package. lol

While I loved a lot of things about this, the clothing style looked contemporary to me. The actor playing the young man is BEAUTIFUL. I would LOVE to know a guy like that and his character was really in love. Is he supposed to be Jewish? I instantly recognized the song at the end. It's one of the most beautiful I've ever heard. I think it fits the emotion, just wonderful if it was another part of his character. Now-lighting and acting-top notch. I love the dynamics in the conversation and the body language that they both use. Superb. I really liked this. Not sure why KZread hasn't recommended it before now.

@Bill D -- Clothing, furniture, even hairstyles depicted are true to the period of late '50s-early '60s. The fact that "mid-century modern" is in vogue in 2021 can lead one to think this was an error or oversight. As someone in their eighth decade you can take my word on that. A look at clips of a JFK campaign rally, or even the debates with Nixon will back me up on that. The story is also so true to the era. J. Edgar Hoover was a sick man who hid who he was by keeping secret files on gay politicians and celebrities, saving this data for use against anyone he saw as a threat to his lifetime position as head of the FBI. I remember LBJ having to fire his long-time friend and "top Presidential Aide" Walter Jenkins because he was caught in an FBI "sting" at the DC YMCA. Think about that: an FBI sting at a YMCA to catch gay government employees. It was not the first time Jenkins was caught there, either. However, this "coincidentally" occurred shortly before the 1964 election and rumor had it that LBJ was preparing to "retire" Hoover, as were JFK and his brother, Atty General Bobby Kennedy before him. Jenkins, a married father of six was exactly like Robert in this film. Robert's wife, Kathy, obviously knew about her husband's infidelity and apparently empathized with Benji, hence the flowers from her, not Robert. To her credit, Jenkins' wife Helen also stayed with him 'til his death 21 years later, following a stroke, at the relatively young age of 67. While both these stories are sad, least deserving of sympathy are the cheating husbands. The fact that they are gay or bi doesn't excuse them. As the saying goes, "You can't love someone else if you don't love yourself."

@@winsboy I'm familiar with J. Edgar and Johnson, even though they were before my time. I haven't seen the film with DiCaprio in it or the film "Johnson" but from what I have read, all that you say is true I was expecting the clothing to look more like what I saw in "Far From Heaven", but you obviously you know what you are talking about. I'll watch it again. I need to anyway, it's that good. Thank you for your information!

Interesting plot but it should have been planned out more carefully. He's in the closet and meeting someone in clandestine in a motel room I take it. Doesn't the public wonder what's he doing there and who he's with?? LOL
