Why should Joe be the one so humble and forgiving when it is him facing the end? He was hurt deeply by these people yet they waited until the sad news to apologize and seek forgiveness. As Joe observed; it was not to offer him comfort, but to avoid their own feeling of guilt and to ease THEIR conscious. This film is very raw and honest, so no tears from me.

Wow, KZread didn't even notify me there were comments. To answer, I'm hanging in there best I can. I have stage 4 emphazima/ COPD. just had open heart surgery quad bypass. They just did a biopsy and think I may have cancer now as well. Someone upstairs is punishing the hell outta me for some reason hahahah Going to so many doctors I don't know which end is up anymore. As most know emphazima is permanent and not curable shy of lung transplants which I don't qualify for so it's a death sentence. It sucks. I'm kinda glad I'm not in a relationship putting someone through this yet it sucks being alone and definitely sucks not having sex anymore. Lol oh well. I had a good run while it lasted and now I'm just trying to enjoy one day at a time. Thanks for the concern and kind words.

I come across this film probably one of the best ones I've seen. At 7 yr old I got diagnosed with encephalitis. I have real bad health problems from it. And 17 yr old I thought I was getting my life finally back in order.I got diagnosed with cancer a rare type leukemia they found a clot in my head the size of a baseball. I had for brain surgeries to massive strokes I had to learn how to walk talk everything all over again and you know it ain't really the cancer I was PO About. more aggravated about people trying to come back in my life that done me wrong it's amazing how people come out of the woodwork when they find out you're dying little too late. Whoever reads this and has somebody in their family that is going through a life-or-death situation I send my prayers to ya'll.always remember.one life one chance make each day count 🤟

Seeing that this was a depressingly, almost soul-crushing short film, it very much hit the mark for me personally. My partner died 28 years ago and the exchange between Joe and Shane is one that I at times I wish I had with him when he was dying and yet I was there for him and did not abandon him as many others did. This film brings back memories i would rather push away, and forget. But also brings new Reason to keep going, and live every second, as if it was my last. This bring back new meaning to my life, and i love each bit of this. Wonderful work, truly.

Nice film. I can relate actually as I was dying of cancer 10 years ago when I was miraculously cured at the last minute, so I went through a whole year of slowly dying. I realized a few things, like that no matter when I died, I would still have unfulfilled dreams, because as soon as I accomplish one thing, a new aspiration pops up. I was so close to death when everything turned around, I actually had already said goodbye to a lot of people. It was the hardest part of dying. Being given the miracle of essentially rebirth, I have lived a more daring and fearless existence ever since. I like to say fear is a caution sign, not a stop sign. I truly appreciate the miracle of life, but I honestly don’t want to live forever. I’m a healthy 61 year old now, workout everyday, and I’d like to leave this life healthy and happy someday, not sick. I already experienced what it’s like dying of cancer and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. I’m not at all afraid of death, never have been, I will happily welcome it when the time comes . I realize most people won’t be able to relate, but that’s how I honestly feel. Death is nothing to be afraid of. So close to death, all plans were made for my burial. My grave and tombstone are in place. My epitaph reads: I wonder if caterpillars fear death like humans, not knowing that instead of death, they are about to go through a beautiful transformation- from caterpillars into butterflies.

I enjoyed the acting and mainly the fade out transition three times, looks like reading a book... like every chapter.....The another beautiful part of this film is he still has love for his ex boyfriend and he doesn't want to express it... It was so beautiful when he tells his father that you have a new family, new son and that he is straight....might join football and give you lot of grandchildren... He wants to live his short life happy and he forgive his father. A beautiful feeling is layered in this film with lots of subtility... Lots of congratulations to the director, cast and crew members... Hope you make this film even big... Make more good films like this....Good bless..

Powerful. 😉. The hardest thing I had to do in my Pediatric Practice was tell a patient and his family that the end was near. The teenager accepted the news much more gracefully than the family did. In fact, in my presence, the young man told his family … I am at peace. I want to give you each a hug good bye and then I want you to go home so that I can fall asleep and move on with my journey. Please respect my wishes. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that bravery and sense of solace. I told the Nurses that I would be within the hospital and to page me as the end approached. Timmy did not die alone.

Nothing is worse than seeing someone die bitter and immersed in anger. Young people who were sick, and dying, are sometimes very angry, and they will strike at the people who are their care givers or partners. The anger, coupled with feelings of helplessness are a part of the death and dying process. Our efforts as volunteers were to help them and their loved ones push through it.
