Laura first noticed an ulcer at the back of her tongue which was diagnosed as an aggressive cancer, resulting in major surgery that involved the surgical removal of her tongue. Laura has learned how to speak again and is an active member of global support group @YoungTongues that connects young people around the World to support and share their experiences.
