    My beautiful Lady and I listened to this song on our honeymoon trip up the calif coast! She went to heaven last year, but I have our music from being together!!

    if you have the chance to see him--don't miss the concert.what an entertainer!!! so nice and his voice still strong at 70 ? i am surprised he wasn't a concert pianiest. he is unbeliable on the keys.thank you neil for a wonderful night out and your beautiful songs.i loved your new one YOU!!!

    My wife and I saw him back in 1977 in Terre Haute, Indiana. She was carrying our first child. We chose Neil for his middle name. She always loved this song.

    Beautiful song and voice-this song was a huge hit in the 70's. Listened to it all the time growing up. Went to see him with Andy Gibb in Tulsa Oklahoma in 1979 growing up there. Great concert.Thanks for the tremendous post.

    This song makes me so happy. When I was 16 I fell in love with a girl from another High School, we went out for a year and a half. When I turned 17, I had young women from everywhere - thank God I joined the military. That was 35 years ago.

    I love this song. I remember listening to this when I was 12, babysitting my nephew. He's 33 now, and I'm 45!!! Scary. Still a great song, though. What's Sedaka doing now? He wrote hundreds of songs in the 60's and 70's. We need him now.

    If this song doesnt make you feel good then theres no hope for you!!! I remember listning to this song for the first time on WBJW - BJ 105 In Orlando Fla -- Way back in late 1974 ---- Where did those great days go to??? -- Thank God at least we had them!!

    Neil is the best singer. I never get sick of listening to all his songs in particular The Hungry Years. Lucky to have seen him at the Sydney Opera house in 2010. A night to feel good about. Always good memories. Brian Robson.

    In 1975, this song was the one that smacked me in the mouth and told me, "Pay Attention!" It sucks that the music isn't this good these days. Oh well, at least we have this.

    I heard this song twice in the last weekend (yesterday and saturday). I was so happy and surprise for those lucky moments, cause it's each time more difficult to hear it!! Then I remember You Tube and came here to find it!! Beautiful song... never dies!!!!

    God I miss these old songs! there's nothing like the 70's music. I was just a yung un but my family was still alive and times were so much easier back then.I remember sitting on my swing with the am radio. wow how I miss those days

    On this day in 1975 {January 25th} Neil Sedaka performed "Laughter In The Rain" on the late Dick Clark's 'American Bandstand'... Three months earlier on October 19th, 1974 it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; and on February 1st it peaked at #1 {for 1 week} and spent 20 weeks on the Top 100... It reached #15 in the U.K. Was his first release on Elton John's "Rocket Record" label... R.I.P. Mr. Clark {1929 - 2012} and Mr. Sedaka turns 74 years old this coming March 13th...

    Miraculous! I’m glad that he didn’t choose the life of a concert pianist, although he was a pupil at the Juilliard. All this training is found here in this song, and isn’t the world a better place for it.

    You'll never,ever see another place like Tin-Pan-Alley that produced so many singer-songwriters,such as Sadaka,Carol King,Bachrach/David, and a host of others.I'm not sure if he's ever been inducted into the Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame,but if he hasn't it's certainly time.He's long overdue.

    I was five years old when this song came out and hit number one. I don't remember where I was then, but I know it was a happy, simple time. I get chills every time I hear this song. I just have random pictures in my mind, but I can "see" the afternoon sun and open windows in our house as great songs were playing on the radio. Man, I long for those days again.

    I saw an interview of Neil Sedaka, of where Elvis invited him and his wife up too his suite after one of his concerts, and Elvis gave Neil's wife a solid gold necklace, I beleive and Neil sat at the piano while he and Elvis sang, Neil Sedaka said too bad there were not a tape recorder around. WOW can you imagine if there was one?

    Neil should be in the Hall of Fame for this song alone! Saw a TV doc on his career recently which included clips of him performing live although now (I believe) in his 70s. To have heard sound only, you'd have sworn it was recorded when he was still in his prime - amazing!
