Believe it or not, Neil is an exceptional SOUL singer.

Really one of the underrated songs of my years growing up. I still hear it and stop what I'm doing to remember & reflect on those magical years called High school...

My wife and I saw him back in 1977 in Terre Haute, Indiana. She was carrying our first child. We chose Neil for his middle name. She always loved this song.

Neil's a genius! He had one of the best ears for melody of the era! I admire this man. I did as a 6-year-old, and I do as a 38-year-old. :-)

Shyann, did you notice the guy playing the Sax was Jim Horn, John Denver's long time sax and woodwind player?

It reached #15 in the U.K. Was his first release on Elton John's "Rocket Record" label... R.I.P. Mr. Clark {1929 - 2012} and Mr. Sedaka turns 74 years old this coming March 13th...

You'll never,ever see another place like Tin-Pan-Alley that produced so many singer-songwriters,such as Sadaka,Carol King,Bachrach/David, and a host of others.I'm not sure if he's ever been inducted into the Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame,but if he hasn't it's certainly time.He's long overdue.

I was five years old when this song came out and hit number one. I don't remember where I was then, but I know it was a happy, simple time. I get chills every time I hear this song. I just have random pictures in my mind, but I can "see" the afternoon sun and open windows in our house as great songs were playing on the radio. Man, I long for those days again.

I saw an interview of Neil Sedaka, of where Elvis invited him and his wife up too his suite after one of his concerts, and Elvis gave Neil's wife a solid gold necklace, I beleive and Neil sat at the piano while he and Elvis sang, Neil Sedaka said too bad there were not a tape recorder around. WOW can you imagine if there was one?

Neil should be in the Hall of Fame for this song alone! Saw a TV doc on his career recently which included clips of him performing live although now (I believe) in his 70s. To have heard sound only, you'd have sworn it was recorded when he was still in his prime - amazing!
