This sends out a big message that the National Symphony Orchestra supports younger artists like Laufey and in collaboration want to introduce Orchestral/Classical music to our coming generations- an endearing and wholesome effort.
Just saw this on PBS. It so nice to hear a singer actually sing and not scream. Her voice is so natural and pure. What a delight !
amazing she sounds record quality live while playing along, especially when considering timing with a down tempo orchestral backing, amazing

She and her twin sister truly are gems - classically trained in Reykjavík and Berklee Colleges of Music, participated in the Voice Iceland and blessed us all with living room concerts during COVID. I hope to catch a wonderful orchestral performance one day ❤
Only Laufey can get a whole audience of young girls and women to show up to a jazz gig. Incredible talent on display.

boring elevator music

@@mikamikan1079 Elevators with music? What kind of elevators do you use? What are you? Rich? I would love elevators with bossanova! and every corner of the world with this music being loved as much as any other gender, just enjoy music without prejudice That means: stop trying making an image on your mind when hearing music. And if you would really want to imagine something, the right thing is not an elevator, but the beaches of Brasil. Bossanova is a style that uses guitar as the main instrument because it is indeed beach music, not elevator music. That is a yankees' thing. And if you reaally want a music for elevators, its really smooth jazz, not bossanova neither latin jazz. And smooth jazz is cool too. I enjoy from psytrance, to 70s progressive rock, grunge, rap, numetal, colorstep, funk and soul, and a lot of other heavier genders. But for me? Bossanova has the perfect rhythm to get peace in almost any context, even in the hardest ones. Try it, just stop thinking about palm trees, smoking or rastafaris when listening to reggae, stop imagining a metal head, beers and whatever comes to your mind when listening to metal, stop thinking about synthpop as neon colored with baby blue and hot pink. Or Taylors music as something girly, because it isnt. Just enjoy music by itself, at least try it! Tastes are all adcquired and you are missing some colors of what life can be with bossanova as a tool in your playlist. I used to be trapped in some styles, Im glad Im not anymore

Laufey has become one of my absolutely favorite singers but does anyone out there realize what a wonderful touch she has on the guitar?
So happy to see her perform again on tv ❤
Notes of kd lang’s incredible voice in this new independent generation. Beautiful and clear sound.
I got to love every second of this while being in the crowd looking through my pirate telescope admiring a treasure to my heart ❤️🔥

@@fjolakristinbragadottir9333 the beat of the song she's singing is called bossa nova and is a Brazilian(Portuguese)song style. To me, the language i is so melodic❤️ (Check out Sergio Mendez and Brazil 66 for prime examples of song style and language)😃

I'm assuming because the commenter noticed that the song is in a Bossa Nova style, but that doesn't necessarily mean it has to be sung in Portuguese.🙂 @@fjolakristinbragadottir9333
