Uum, Yeah! 😃 I love how technical you are. I especially appreciate the tip on using a larger milk pitcher to pour. Thank you for putting this up John.
I love it when John says "I'll be right back". It's like unnecessary politeness because the time he's gone is edited out. He's great :)

It really does put a finishing touch on things. I love it.
THANK YOU for mentioning not to touch the cup rim!!!!!!!
I found it interesting. Thank you for the important tips of holding, pouring and at the same time keeping the pitcher hot.
The number of lightbulb moments I had during this video was spectacular
Excellent point regarding holding the top of the cup
This is an awesome video, best tip video of latte art!
Down right Honest Video ... works...btw some in-depth knowledge sharing its been...Thanx a ton.
The lecture and information given was superb but the videography needs lots of work, May I suggest more close ups, Birds eye view, over the shoulder, medium shots, extreme close ups, follow the action and most of all a final shot of the product. Thank you i hope this helps, I enjoy these videos immensely.
Latte art is incomplete if the barista has no visible tattoos.

Very helpful, thank you
Trying not to shake Drank a lot of coffee lol Best line of the video
you guys have access to different steam wands. I would be more interested in your recommendation and evaluation of each, how technique or tweaks would be different.
This was interesting. I love that close up shot when you were brewing so we don't have to look at your back. All in all video was very informative and you still nicely plugged some of the stuff SCG is selling. I'm not espresso guy so I don't understand why you need to transfer in bigger pitcher, why not steam in it? That joke at the end was hilarious. 😃

When steaming milk you want to have the milk up to a certain point in the milk jug to allow is to"roll" properly (allowing the milk to spin in a vortex) this breaks down the bubbles and gives you the microfoam and smooth textured milk that you need for latte art. If you start steaming the milk in a large milk pitcher there might not be enough milk relative to the size of the milk pitcher to get that "roll" going. filling the milk pitcher to just below the bottom of the beginning of the spout is the usual guideline :)
i need to see tips with the barista express. im having a hard time dialing it in
We like this
Thanks for this video! I wish there were more resources for the home Barista like this. I think if you didn't let the milk sit directly after finishing the steam and instead swirled it in the pitcher while getting ready, it might have poured a little better. Also, you commented about using other milk and mentioned 2%, but I get great results using 2% on my Rocket. 1% and below are more likely to have an issue in my experience. Would love to see a video on creating a latte art swan. I want to see you talk through the pour on how to get it correct. Thx.
Thanks
i loved your expresso machine, plz mention its brand

John is steaming on a Rocket Appartamento!
Why not use the bigger pitcher in the first place if you are going to transfer the milk there anyway?
I thought pitcher transfer is also for mixing the milk? (because the foam tends to stay on top).for pouring latte art, I found it quite difficult using big pitcher (500-600 ml) compared to smaller pitcher (350 ml) . but I believe this is personal preference.

Definitely the MOST IMPORTANT TIP, that's basicaly a rule, is to mix foam and liquid milk. I throwed away a lot of milk wich i've frothed correctly, because in every video I saw, the guy just explained how to use the steamer. I Almost broke cups and dish pitchers knocking them on the bench, trying to understand where my mistake was. It's hard to understand why milk just sinks under the coffee and you get no draw and no contrast, but in the videos everything seems to be perfect. Even if you just let a minimum quantity of milk quite close from the "canvas", it does not work and just liquid drops in the cup. So, use whole milk and mix foam and liquid until it to become uniform from start to finish of pouring.
Why not just steam in the larger jug?
Nice Video. I can not get the consistency correct. It is either too thick and floats on top, or a little loose and the milk pours first. I know I have to watch not to burn the milk. I like the information about the smaller pitcher so you can get closer to the cup. Thanks Matt V I'm a high school teacher, trying to get students to learn this!
I am from Indonesia. I am very inspired. But I have learned 5 months, I can't ... every heart looks at your video.
Respect brother
lol
When you leave the coffee in the machine without extracting a shot, aren't you burning it?
Why you no mention Crema just espresso? The crema is what you see on top as you call the contrast. if you're gonna teach please be thorough in explanation.
I hate wide cups for lattes I prefer long thin glasses

He had too much milk. His pour was wrong. He was out of practice. Why did he post the video. Why do you sycophants praise him. That was a completely whack video. He should have cut his losses and redone the post to show us a good result.

Erm .. just about everything he said was on point. This is a tips n tricks video, not a how to pour video. He's out of practice, he said so himself. Take the good and leave out the not so good. Is that so hard?
