Latinxathon 2020 TBR // Prompts + What I'm Reading [CC]

National Latinx Heritage Month is from September 15 to October 15 (in US), and is when the contributions and heritage of Latinx American people are celebrated. #latinxathon was created to collectively read books by Latinx authors. Here's this year's Latinxathon 2020 prompts and my TBR a.k.a. what I'm reading.

I can't wait to start reading these! I also have Cemetery Boys on back up in case my mood changes. Will you be participating in Latinxathon? Will you be posting a TBR video?

PS I am also Cuban-American and looking for some diverse Cuban authors to read (fiction preferably), I'm having a hard time forming a longer list and thought I'd ask you! So far I've read "We came all the way from Cuba for you to dress like that" by Achy Obejas, and have on my TBR "A Planet for Rent" by Yoss, "Forest World" by Margarita Engle and "Cuba 15" by Nancy Osa.

@@lisbetbarrientos2095 some suggestions: we the animals, by Justin Taurus, made into a movie by the way, Oscar Hijuelos was Cuban American. I read his Pulitzer Prize novel The Mambo Kings speak songs of love. He was from New York to by the way and his book was made into a great movie that had cameos by Celia Cruz Tito Puente. He also has another novel that I'm planning to read a memoir, I guess you know Elizabeth Acevedo a Dominican American author who wrote The Poet X. I have so many more if you need suggestions. Much Aloha Bendicion

Hola, I'm just turned 70, am both a Latinx (Boricua) author and a new booktuber. I'm so glad I found your channel. I will join the celebration. Having 65 years of reading under my belt and having read thousands of books, makes this a bit easier on my failing eyesight. I have heard of the YA book but didn't know the author was Puerto Rican, YAY. WEPA!
