I obtained a Lathe just like yours recently what chuck do you use and have you used it outboard.

Hi Curt! I use a Nova G3 with a 7/8 spindle adapter. This lathe is one of the very few that uses a 7/8" spindle, so the adapter is key to make more common chucks and tooling work. I haven't used it outboard at all (except for sanding, which doesn't really count). There's a great and detailed blog on the lathe here: 46-140-lathe.blogspot.com/2010/01/what-can-this-lathe-do.html

Thank for the reply. It will help. I’m thinking of making a 12 inch disk sander for the outboard end. Also on the level I have one also that I got with an old carpenters box that had a bunch of Disston saws that I wanted (6 bucks) on the level there are two little winged covers that go over the adjustment screws, I’m missing one and looking for some sheet brass to make a replacement part they carry it in hobby stores, just haven’t had time to do it.
