Latest Long COVID Research on Treatment Options for Long COVID Symptoms | Seminar | Dr. Shai Efrati

Ғылым және технология

Shai Efrati, M.D. discusses the results of his latest in-depth research regarding treatment of post-COVID conditions. Dr. Efrati offers practical insights for those suffering from lingering symptoms, and suggests effective treatment options that can restore health.
Dr. Efrati's study, published in Scientific Reports in July 2022, was the first randomized, sham-control, double blind trial to evaluate the effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on post-COVID-19 patients with ongoing symptoms for at least 3 months after confirmed infection.
His specialized hyperbaric oxygen therapy protocol is available as part of the multidisciplinary Aviv Medical Program, only found at Aviv Clinics. Contact us to learn more about the personalized Long COVID symptom treatment program available at Aviv Clinics: aviv-clinics.com/disease/long... or call us directly at 352-718-2380 to schedule a free no-obligation consultation.
In this recorded webinar, Dr. Efrati will detail the research he conducted alongside his team. Specifically, it explains:
- The connection between long COVID and brain injuries
- Why lingering symptoms can persist for months or even years
- How Dr. Efrati's clinical trial is the first of its kind to demonstrate effective improvements in cognitive and physical symptoms
- Why the treatment protocol utilized in the clinical trial is unique
- The significant improvements for trial participants: energy, sleep, global cognitive scores such as attention and executive function, as well as psychiatric symptoms and pain.
Dr. Efrati's innovative study was recently reviewed by the New England Journal of Medicine, one of the world's most respected medical journals: "This provocative report is well-controlled and shows objective improvements in the brain that correlate with symptom improvement."
The Aviv Medical Program provides you with a unique opportunity to invest in your health while you recover from a variety of conditions, including stroke, TBI or concussion, long COVID, and more. We have created a state-of-the-art program that can combine a personalized program of cognitive and physical training, nutritional coaching, and a unique, evidence-based hyperbaric oxygen protocol to help you maximize your cognition, vitality and quality of life. Our multidisciplinary team of healthcare specialists uses in-depth assessments and analytics to create a plan fully personalized for you.

So basically, what you're saying is that in order to get this treatment, you have to be rich because you can't just pay for this out of pocket or maintain a job cuz you're going to HBOT everyday for months. You have to be within daily driving distance for treatments. Thank you for the research, sincerely, but as usual the masses are going to be left out of any kind of treatment for years! Our medical system is so fu in this country!

Hi Kaylee, We absolutely agree that the U.S. medical system has a lot of challenges. That's one of the reasons that our medical team continues to produce and publish research. With further recognition from the medical community, we hope that one day, insurance companies will cover our program, so that it can be accessible to many more people who desperately need relief.

There are private hyperbaric facilities in most mid-to-large metropolitan areas in the US which can treat this condition. Some of these facilities even have extended hours to accommodate working individuals...but, even if not, patients can still work part or most of the day and typically fit in a treatment. It is self-pay at this point, but I don't know (but don't quote me) of any other countries where Long Covid is a covered treatment through insurance or national healthcare. So, in other words, despite the challenges, where this is a will there's a way if you truly need and want this therapy. And depending on the severity of the symptoms, etc, some people respond to the therapy in as few as 10 treatments, whereas others will require more. Best of luck...

I had long covid. The doctors sent me to specialist, no one knew how to treat me. I had never had high blood pressure in my life and was having readings of 208/110. I was on three different medications to control my bp unsuccessfully throughout the day. I was triggered by this wave of uncontrollable anxiety that would push my bp, no reason for it, sitting watching tv. I prayed to God for help. I was led to you tube video’s on the vagus nerve and how it was being taken over from sympathetic to parasympathetic out of my control and back again. I had to fix my microbiome with fermented foods, probiotics, natto, co-q10, magnesium, supplements. Over a year later I have no bp issues and I am not only any medications. Still i monitor my bp. Was the scariest time of my life.

I was severe in March 2020 - ICU patient, NOT admitted because I didn't take the vent (which is why I survived) but then no help. I am a nurse. I was treating this in urgent care. It was no issue at all until the mandates. Once the mandates started, hell broke loose. I wasn't scared, and I refuse to live that way BUT I do have to say, until I found medications like EyeVrMk10, HBOT (needed 80 hours, but was sliding backwards, then started...) IV Ozone, and now enzymes like lumbrokinase, etc. It's NOT just one thing, at all, but HBOT is AWESOME. I'm a user. I'm at the THREE year point, March. Before the shots I will not get, came out. Never got sick again, never was sick before this. This was a different beast, and it wasn't a flu.Hell NO was this anxiety. I know what anxiety is. This was not it. I had a photographic memory. I taught dane fitness and memorized routines instantly. I could multi-task. I was a critical and step down nurse. Highly functioning. This was NOT psychosomatic. I call it, somaticpsycho. The psychological comes FROM the persistent physical neurological and cognitive, etc. Thank you.

Longcovid can cost people hairloss and career loss - that can be valued at up to 100000d easily. And other treatments and clinics can be about the same or more. @nese kitty There is something that is being used to treat covid. We have used it on two occasions and it did seem to lessen symptoms and shortened duration of COVID. It is also in official medical testing as a treatment. It is called ArtemiC Rescue and there is also an after treatment for Longcovid that is called ArtemiC Support. They have some videos on KZread about it This is one of the few products for Covid that has had medical testing done on it.

Very interesting. So this research study has been published. Also recently published is research finding endothelial damage, microclots and platelet pathology by Dr. Resia Pretorius and Dr. Jacob Laubscher in South Africa. And also currently a huge study being undertaken by Dr. Akiko Iwasaki at Yale medical centre, also seeing endothelial damage and micro clotting, but not published yet. So as a patient, I can see how hyperbaric treatment coupled with anti-coagulants might very well be hugely beneficial to my condition. But, it won’t happen here in the UK, unless the BMA take on board all this current research and do something with it, disseminate to the GP’s.

In retrospect, some issues I'm having really began when I got vaccinated to keep my hospital job that is now killing me. It's been 6 months since I had covid and a really scary incident where I almost lost consciousness and I'm still having issues that I can't figure out and are becoming debilitating. Dizziness, extreme anxiety, headaches, depression, brain fog, speech problems, huge sleep problems, etc. I'm at the end of my rope with it. My doctor wanted to prescribe SSRI'S and Paxlovid for some reason. "Long covid" seems to be a diagnosis we're just making up as we go along as more and more people report symptoms.

Still on disability. I'd never EVER take a shot of what I had, to keep a job. I died, no one helped me. It's been lonely on the craw up and out. You have to look into what I did and you'll improve -- EBOO, H202, eyeVrMk10, enzymes like Lumbrokinase, mast cell activation meds, HBOT. I had a lot of those scary episodes so I understand. what is scarier is healthcare workers to get the shot, are working with longhauler covaids....NOT good mistakes wise, etc. This they knew. Take NO more. I care. And I'm sorry. :(

The vaccine causes inflammatory response in body as well. Yours smptoms seem to fall under that category. I would try to find a doctor who will think outside of the box and treat you with high dose IV steriod. It's easier if you're having neurological symptoms. Go to a neurologist they use IV steroids more treating brain diseases. Good Luck.

You need to treat inflammation. I had terrible fatigue, brain fog, memory cognitive issues after covid. I'm Still recuperating. New doctor treated me with I meg solumedrol IV steroid. Within hours of treatment the pressure I felt on top of my head lifted. Several days later I could think clearer my short term memory lapses improving. My fatigue also is much better. I nap once or twice a week once a day. Not every day twice or three times. Why do doctors ignore treating brain inflammation. It is documented on MRI scans. They know it's there but don't treat it. I thank God I finally found a doctor who treated it. Look for doctors who will give corticosteroids to treat long term covid inflammation. This is what causes long covid!

That's a great point-- and we're so glad that you are feeling better! Yes, the immune response to COVID can definitely cause significant inflammation. No, you need to clear out the ROOT of the inflammation as it will come back. The root is parasites, viral load, pathogens, etc. Steroids are also NOT good if you have mold, or glucose issues, and causes issues with hormones and such. "Treating inflammation" is like picking off dead leaves from a rotting tree. No, inflammation is not what "causes" long covid. It did help in the beginning (for those who got it), but it will go dormant. Steroids are great short term but it's only treating the symptoms, not the cause. And they weaken the immune system.

Your data on the "recovery" of the heart was confusing to me. The heart has or does not have "stem cells" that can transform into contractile tissue? Therefore, what does the red outline indicate in the cardiac data? I have long-haulers (self-diagnosis because most physicians where I live in South Carolina are deniers) and my EF dropped to 46% ! How does that data relate to my decreased contractility? I can understand endothelial damage in the ENTIRE vascular system, but how does this play out in the heart itself. That part of your webinar did not make sense to me. Thank you for any response. Dr. Tichenor

How can he assume something like that about me? He did not really know the difference between fibromyalgia and CFS or what PEM is. We're sorry to hear that you were disappointed in Dr. Efrati's response and hope that your condition has improved. Long COVID has certainly sparked more interest in myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome and post-exertional malaise. He's been quite passionate about fibromyalgia, but at this point, Dr. Efrati has not published any clinical trials specifically on ME/CFM or PEM. Looks like you've identified a great option for future research!

@@User98681 Great! Glad that worked for you. We have different sets of circumstances and with my viral load, hyper immunity, etc. I got it in march 2020, very high load, working in a moldy healthcare then a mold problem in my house. There were also co-infections going on, and reactivation. Yes, I intermittent fasted, but that's a small piece. Reservatrol and quercetin were good but not good enough. I was damaged with a severe case and no intervention at all. I'm working through a lot, but overall, there more falsities in this than truths, and the shot does not prevent long covaids.....not when every one around me who got the shots are developing turbo cancers and long haul symptoms. A lot of either fear to speak truth in this video, or joy in promoting the shot. Anyway what helped me required a fundraiser since it was so bad and needed so much help --EBOO, IV ozone, UV radiation IV, Methylyene Blue, NAD+. This is also a mitochondrial thing. I also learned about some genetic issues I have with clearing and breaking down fatty acids. Some "off" things here. Thank you for your input and prayers! Sorry, I don't use internet often. He's also wrong 1.3 ATA doesn't help. Lower and slower with brain injury is far SAFER, if we want to talk about health and safety.

I forgot all about the nebulizer as I was relying on Ivermectin which I took the standard dosage but I was still sick for 7-10 days. Only later I found out that Ivermectin's effective rate is 70% and I was supposed to up the dosage if it's not working. A double dosage would have still been safe. A better way is to do the kitchen sink approach combining with HCQ for example. I also heard that they used Andrographis in Thailand to combat the virus.

I wish I had ivermectin! I got very sick in march 2020 but like I wrote above, I also had a crapload of other issues such as mold toxicity from a moldy environment at work, the gym where I taught dance classes and at home in my HVAC. EBV, Lyme, and just a hot mess. Ivermectin cured ALL my friends and family who listened, and recovered super well. I was neglected by medicine/healthcare - I worked 25 years in this system in critical care and urgent care. When it came to me, I got not a drop of steroids, and I'm still struggling and suffering and have not stopped in trying to get better with all my might and every penny I have. HBOT was great but NOWHERE near enough. EBOO/Apheresis was the BEST! It's filtering, ozone, oxygenation, methylene blue, etc. I have strong antibodies I died to get (coded twice, survived spontaneously), but my goodness, longhaul is long hell! Ivmctin - no deaths from it, and no longhaulers. Infection, not injection.I can't do anything much with out sleeping or needing to rest the entire next day. I still need more EBOO, but had to take a break because the vein pooped out. Yes! I did Andrographis too with my naturopath. It's a complex thing and every one has a different situation ..different genes, different toxins, different everything.....hormones, age, nutrition, etc. What a ....trip.@@leezap
