Congratulations Karen on reaching 2.5 subscribers I remember your first one when you were chuffed to have 6 Well done I love your new top it looks a complicated sew but you did it and the fabric is really nice will be a good addition to your wardrobe The little one is going to be so chuffed with your mouse especially having some outfits to play with Enjoy your sewing group looking forward to seeing what you end up making Well my sewing is on the back burner again I was so chuffed to get the all clear to try sewing and had cut out a few patterns I was walking short distances unaided BUT while out for lunch last week I stumbled landing very heavily on my bad foot ending up with a fractured heel which has set me right back possible 6-12 wks non weight bearing in my Moon Boot Will know more on Wednesday when at the Fracture Clinic after the swelling has gone down To say I was devastated is an understatement but could have been worse I could have broken both my wrists if John and a friend hadn’t caught me Not a lot I can do what’s done is done at least it’s a bit cooler so can get my knitting out Have a lovely week my distant friend ❤️😘🌹

@@karensewsslowly Oh dear! It'll be worth it! Have you heard of putting slinky fabric in gelatin dips? You mix gelatin with water. Soak the fabric in it. Hang to dry. When dried the fabric has more substance and isn't slinky and makes it easier for cutting and sewing! After sewing it washes out easily. Lots of recipes if you google! Can't wait to see your make!

Congratulations on your 2.5k subscribers, I’m not surprised as I’ve watched from the start and you come across so lovely and down-to-earth. I love all your makes and fabric choices. I’m yet to cut and sew my first Zadie but I have made 3 of the Deer&Doe Sirocco jumpsuits one of which is in the soft purple/pink jersey you showed. It’s THE most comfortable thing to wear. I followed Andrea from Beyond ThePink Door’s sew along tutorial and it’s dead easy. I highly recommend it, even if you watch the video first before thinking about buying the pattern. Good fix on the green top to accommodate the ties. Lovely top and fabric. I always use Maraflex thread when sewing knits and use a straight stitch then overlock the seams. Good Luck sorting your zig zag stitch- so frustrating when things don’t work properly. Colour you are wearing is so perfect on you but sure the green will look good too. Love your vlogs😊. Hi Lynne - just me being keen to get sewing as I didn't have any Maraflex in a suitable colour. I think the Zig Zag problem was the fabric being extremely thin I tried it on a bit of cotton and it was a little better - plus my machine has so many ways to alter a stich and options for stitches I think it's down to finding the right one for each fabric and/or project. @@karensewsslowly hi Karen, the tip I’m wearing was drafted and cropped from an old RTW sweatshirt. It’s a French Terry from UK Stretch Fabrics. I made a gathered skirt dress in the same fabric with a green background but can I find it? 🤷‍♀️🤣

All your work looks great but the mouse face is particularly impressive. It's so easy to end up with an odd expression on the face but you nailed it and got a very cute mouse. Xxxx

Ears should be a doddle, if they don't quite match, it leaves a slight quizzical look which only adds to the cuteness score.

Thank you Sarah, it's a comfy top the Athena one apart from the annoying sleeves but that's personal to me. The jersey is so soft isn't it - I think mine was quite reasonable too. I am putting off sewing the mouse ears on because I could potentially ruin the whole project but I did the same with the face and that turn out ok.
