Out of curiosity, what size leaders were you using? I know he said 50 for the braid

50# on 50#. One guy had on 60# leader.

I caught a 13 pounder once. It hardly fought. Just like a cod it was dead weight. When it hit the deck, never forget that "thud"!
I hope you throw the big ones back,we don't keep the breeders.
