This song makes me cry everytime. Its a beautiful depiction of how depression slowly grabs you and how suicidal ideation isnt always obvious, sometimes presenting itself as something ideal that we apathetically hope for

im sorry there wasnt any more i could do for you. i took your to your appointments, i made schedules with your family, and i always stopped everything to give you somewhere safe to sleep, food, and a hot shower when your mind saw threats everywhere. i tried to do it all, and take care of you when you couldnt take care of yourself, when you would forget to take your medication because your mind wouldnt let you think of anything except the horrors of your life, and when those horrors hooked into your mind and made you confuse reality with your nightmares. Mitsky was our song when you just needed to cry and be held. and ill still hold you every time listen, even if youre not there anymore. i may have not have been a good partner all the time, but i loved you so much, and i tried to do everything i could to keep you safe and sound. but i cant do it all for you, and it wouldnt be right to try and force you. i couldnt help you, i was powerless to your illness goodbye. i hope youre doing better in the next life. i hope we can try again then.

God, this is genuinely one of the most heartbreaking things I’ve ever read. Reading this tore me up inside. I’m so so sorry. as someone who’s been suicidal and as someone who’s lost a loved one, you did the best you could. It wasn’t your fault. Please take care of yourself. the emptiness will always be there, but you can find joy in life again. I hope you do someday, for yourself and for the one you lost.

This is a deeply impactful and relatable song. It's something so often I've felt, not willing to attempt, but quietly hoping something would happen. And especially the being glad shed left her room tidy. It's such a quiet yet monumentally emotional notion. Wanting to go quietly and be the least burdensome on those you leave behind as you can. I also think there's some underlying notion of being relieved it wasn't forecasted, so it wasn't some deliberately self destructive choice to get on the plane. As a literal interpretation, anyway. I hope anyone who knows what this is like, I hope more than anything for you all to fall in love with life.
