Last Week Was Really Challenging

*Turn on closed captions, in the settings at the bottom right of the video, click on the CC / the subtitle icon.* Last Week Was Really Challenging - To be honest, I was even scared to mention about what happened in this vlog in fear of saying wrong things and even though this was filmed over a year ago, I was still a little scared to post this vlog… but I wanted to document this in my journey.
Watching this one year later, that was like a big change, a shift in our society. More people including myself were becoming more aware of what’s been happening- which is the first step to change, being aware of the issues- more people were talking about this. I can’t remember any time in history in the past in my lifetime had there been anything like last summer. Like we have social media now. Some people would get upset if other people didn’t say anything about what happened but then these same people would get upset if they said wrong things, so that week was challenging for me trying to figure out what to post, what to say. But I’ve read, I’ve listened, I’ve learned that week. And I’m still learning.
Thanks again for watching and being a part of my personal vlogging journey.

My ASL professor shared one of your videos in class from 2 years ago (Raising A Deaf Child) since that day I subscribed and I have been following you. I love the beautiful relationship and connection you have with your family. May the Lord be with you giving you the strength you need to move on during your day. Be strong in the Lord my sister. Don't be to hard on yourself take your time and do little projects at a time. Try not to overwhelmed yourself with many things at a time and a lot of thinking will affect your emotions. Remember when special occasions and memories arrive don't ignore them just try to do something new not to replace them but to start creating and forming your journey. It's something I have been working on. I know God is carrying you right now. Be blessed 🙏🏽❤🤟🏽

Hopefully, this last week (end of July, 2021) wasn't as challenging / difficult as that one was back in 2020. Even when your KZread posts aren't all smiles, good news & success stories, I still enjoy watching them because there are new signs to learn, and another update about how your personal journey is going. 🤟👍👍!

I did not turn on CC, and I'm glad! While still a rank beginner, I caught more words than I expected, and was pleasantly surprised to find later in the transcript that I got the main gist of this video! I picked up that you were taking a course. I'm going to re-watch to challenge myself to pick up some more. And way to be a caring human, always trying to learn and grow. You are a great role model for everyone, deaf, HOH or not. ❤️

@@ChristianConspirator I too was going to ask the same but, I think it's best to see it like in a real world situation. If you would like to slow down the video, there are options to go 3/4 , 1/2 and 1/4 speed in the KZread video settings. Admittedly, this is one of the first few videos that I've ever had to turn on CC from Ashley. I'm ok with it, just had to know. Thank you Ashley! 😊

Racism is such a horrible thing and I’ve seen it all over. Will never understand it. That’s a good idea about treating it like a real class. 2020 was a strange year, but it had a lot of good moments for me as well. Got to help a lot of people during it and that’s what I enjoy doing. Have a happy Wednesday!

This is quite offensive, where are the subtitles for people who can't understand this? Deaf people complain when there is no sign language translation.

  • @Starcrash6984

I imagine it's less offensive to talk about George Floyd now that Derek Chauvin was found guilty of his murder and sentenced to prison. There are far fewer people who want to defend him now that a court has ruled on it.

Seeing your strength after losing your dad is just incredible because that is so devastating news😔🙏🏽. I cry sometimes when I see u talk about your dad because I can see your heart hurts. My heart hurts too because I am grieving as well. I wants to share with you something that I think will help you to cope if you are willing to watch it. Its an ASL and it REALLY HELPED ME! It’s a couple of ASL videos that are very short. One of them only 2minutes 49 seconds. I’ve been trying to contact you on Instagram so I hope to hear from you soon! I’m sad I can’t reach you because I know what it’s like to feel all the emotions you are feeling now. Please Message me please and I’ll give u my number 💕
