Hopefully we can keep doing these!
I am really worried about Rubelev. I saw your video on him from a few weeks ago and I sympathize with him given his upbringing but this is not normal. He's going to hurt himself and we're watching it happen in real time. Very disturbing.

I hope he can find a way to manage it, I understand being down on yourself for playing bad, but it seems like in the moment he is not able to control it.
This week was so crazy. Couldn't wait for your take on it.
The tournament Director absolutely did not overreact. She said her reasoning was based on the safety of the players first. What else do you want?
Maybe it was too abrupt and rigourous to ban alcohol right away, but if you need alcohol to have fun, you should rethink your view on fun, and you should dig deeper into what alcohol does to your body. Of course everyone can enjoy alcohol if they want to, but is a tennis match really the right setting for it? Go to a bar afterwards if you feel the need, but you should also be perfectly able to enjoy a tennis match without it. If you're unable, something is seriously wrong with you, and you probably shouldn't be drinking at all, and perhaps even go to an AA meeting instead.

I kinda agree with what you’re saying here, and I feel like your point is much stronger when talking about just watching a tennis match at home, on your TV. When you’re in the stands it’s a little bit different cause that’s an event, it’s a moment in time. Not saying that alcohol is necessary to enjoy it, but it can greatly enhance the experience. I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily more fun than if you’re sober, but it’s a different type of fun

as far as i know, alcohol was only banned in the stands, which i think is perfectly fine. If you wanna have a drink and socialize, do it outside.

@@Teddy_Gautier People can be much more present and aware when they are not under the influence of alcohol. So especially at an event like this when you are actually there... what's the alcohol doing for a person's actual experience? Enhance it? I think not. Distort it, would be my answer. People seem more and more incapable of enjoying the experience of life directly and increasingly feel the need to escape their true experience with alcohol. This is obviously put too harshly, too black or white, but it should make everyone think about the belief that alcohol enhances the experience. When I think of the best experiences in my life, none of them include alcohol, while some of my not-so-great moments actually do include alcohol.

Just when we thought Andrey was turning a corner…
If you need alcohol to enjoy yourself watching elite athletes providing great entertainment, then you are the problem. Good on the ban. Go to a sports bar or drink at home watching the games. Don't spoil it for others!

Even though Naomi lost, it still felt like a win for her, just to show everyone that she still is capable of taking on the best players on the tour.
And no word about Ofner vs Atmane, where Atmane, the French was NOT disqualified after hitting a spectator with a 250km/h Ball long after the Point. instead they ask his Opponent and the Lady what they think?

I guess you missed 23:07-23:13? I agree the officials completely wimped out though. It should never be up to a spectator to say how injured they are.
Paula Badosa is so wrong in her opinion. The outside courts have consistent noise, so you learn to drown it out during the match, but on the main court it is almost complete silence and when it is broken mid point with a scream it stands out so much more. She tried to make it sound like Iga was complaining about any cheering at all and then also used it as non opportunity to imply that she has better concentration. How's that superior concentration working for you outside the Top 100 Paula? It's honestly no surprise she was in a relationship with Tsitsipas. Iga is not 'very lucky she can play all the time on Philippe Chatrier'....it's hard work and results, not luck.

It lights out of you that u are no Holger Rune fan. if u accually watched the match, you would see that Cobolli was playing absolutely insane, and it didnt "fall out" of Runes hands. I hope next weeks video will highlight that Rune has played very well, instead of all the bad things all the time
make rublev's eyes red in the thumbnail XD (Serious note tho, love the guy, solid player and only reason I watch atp videos, so hope he gets a better mental coach, capable of achieving a slam just due to his tenacious nature imo)
Thanks for the recap! As an Australian watcher, I'd love to hear your take about top 10 player de minaur.

Welcome aboard!
Poor Martinez, that's heartbreaking.
Great video!!! Super thorough and detailed. Loving Roland Garros this year. The weather was rough week one, but great tournament 2024. Prediction, Iga and Casper are the winners!!
Nadal can do what he wants, who cares what anyone thinks or if its 'nerve wracking for the fans'
As someone that has had to go to anger management he is probably under the impression that he can get away with it. Too much leniency for too long. He needs consequences, and we have given him empathy for too long. He needs to realise the power his anger has over him, and learn ways to control himself before his anger does. We need to stop supporting him, and making excuses for him. If he doesn't realise enough is enough he is going to get worse. The best way to support him in that is to stop supporting that and reward and validate better behaviour. No more excuses for the man, friendly off court or not.
Great recap
You can’t say Osaka didn’t choke with all the misses and she had a match point
I wish Laver Cup brought women in. Mixed doubles + Ms Graf as captain Europe ☺
The misses Osaka made when serving for the match, it was a choke. She had her, but she made 4 unforced in one game. 3 of them were amateur mistakes. It was 5-2, then that break of serve at 5-3 was the point where you could see right away that Osaka is done and cant get single game anymore.
There's no love in tiebreaks, it's zero - 5

haha, indeed. all 3 out.
I think Nadal has got to play in the olympics because of who he is, and no one will be upset about that, but it's true that Carreno Busta doesn't quite have the same status and isn't playing as well as Martinez.
martinez is buggin. at his peak he was nothing more than a slightly above avg clay courter. the spanish federation owes him nothing.
Just to be clear, it LITERALLY rained cats and dogs?
Nafal can still play double, so it was not his last RG!!

Alcohol banned to prevent a certain player of domestic violence
How do you “tighten” the regulations about alcohol?
Pablo Carreno needs to be very honest with Spain's team, or Spain's team needs to recognize if he is a better choice than Martinez. Carlos is not a question, and Rafael needs to be given a pass since he may just have a burst of great health. #Olympics2024
23:19 Isn’t this one Vondrousova?
I think banning alcohol is a bit over dramatic however I don’t blame her cuz the fans can be greatly disrespectful and alcohol might be a huge reason for it

Who is Pedro Martinez? I have been watching and following tennis for the last 25 years, and i have never heard of pedro martinez? Has he ever reached a final in atp 500 or masters 1000? He hasn't. So mister Pedro, it is better for you to stay quiet and try to actually make some mark in mens tennis.
If an alcohol ban reduces the number of bad apples to levels manageable by the officiaĺs - and who are we to judge that? - then it achieves a necessary goal. Of course, that doesn't mean it was the only way to get there.

Alcohol "regulations" are too difficult to ever be enforced and would not have an effect on troublemakers.
Watch this in the first hours...just in case.
Drama it’s really great but You cannot blame family if you don’t understand language, he has a great mum and you can be sued for deformation! Really not cool..Rublev lives through the tennis, from a young age that is why he takes it so personally.
Monica Selles literally got stabbed at the French Open by a German fan, so banning alcohol is mild compared to what happened in the past! Fans are ridiculous sometimes and they aren’t the ones playing they are only there to watch and support the players!
