While it confused the heck out of them; I'm really glad you showed them the older stuff first for them to understand the range! EDIT: Also, 3:39 love the excitement to an old classic! Loved watching the excitement turn to intrigue and wonder as Ronnie has kept every word the same but DRASTICALLY changed the song and the meaning to me. To me the songs represent different stages of grief... Original - anxiety/anger/bitterness. To me, this version is despair/heartache/paranoia. 3:58 I can already see the tears in your eyes (Red hair on the right sorry I don't know names). I too, listened to this song on repeat... It is a beautiful nostalgic sadness... Ronnie's mother abandoned him for drugs, That is why he screams 4:53 "It all started when I lost my mother. No love for myself and no love FOR ANOTHER!!" Papa Roach was original artist from 2000. This is such a WILDLY different version of this from the original. Never heard this version and I will have to say "HOLY CHIT!!!!" What a great take and way to reimagine the original artist's vision of this. Song has same exact lyrics but, is insanely such a different vibe and is so much more powerful.

I have watched almost every reaction for this song and this time was the first time I heard the lead guitar accents at the end that was cool!

If you want to hear another ballad by FIR I recommend you check out their song Brother. It’s in remembrance of Ronnie’s real life brother who passed away in I believe a motorcycle accident. Also a very emotional song

Here are some must listen to bands. Jinjer, Spiritbox, Scardust, Aryeon, Igorrr, The Hu, Bloodywood, Unleash the Archers, Leo Moracchioli, Electric Callboy, and Ice Nine Kills. That's a good start. Some are strange, some are not in English, most have great voices that will blow you away.

Papa Roach - Last Resort is the original. These lyrics are completely identical, but Papa Roach's version is early 2000's Nu Metal, it's something to easily rock out too. Ronnie's version here, slows things down and the lyrics have more of an impact. It's a beautiful transition.

Recently after hearing the song many times, I realized that the juxtaposition of the two songs is way deeper than I originally thought. Think about it, 23yrs ago, Jacoby Shaddix wrote those lyrics, screaming them at the top of his lungs, "Someone tell me I'm fine, tell me I'm good, I got this" (paraphrasing), but he puts head boppin crunchy guitars and kick ass drums over it, and we all love it, great party music, I used to skateboard to it, etc... What do we do in real life when we're really going through it? We walk out the door, and instead of crunchy guitar riffs, we put that happy/strong face on, so no one sees the pain, so we're not vulnerable. That's, IMO, another aspect of Ronnie's genius, is that he recognized that pain in the song, and was able to show it to the world, while still respecting the original, and paying homage to one of his influences. ✌️💚

Papa Roach's version was catchy and I remember digging the original at the time, but I don't think I speak for just myself.. most of us really didn't recognize what the song really meant until we heard this version.

You ladies need to hold on for dear life if you go down the Falling In Reverse rabbit hole. I suggest listening to Ronnie Radke when he was in Escape The Fate first, just to see his growth as a musical genius and his vocal range.

Hey ladies, great reaction and break down as usual, I LOVED that you showed that flip side of Ronnie and Co. at the beginning. One thing...well I don't wanna say you missed, cause that sounds a bit judgmental, one thing I'll add, how 'bout that, is not only Ronnies versatility, but the juxtaposition of this reimagined version and the original is profound. So the original, by Papa Roach, released in March of 2000, was a head boppin' rock jam, that pretty much was a hit with everyone, despite their preferred genre of music. Ronnie did not change a single word in the lyrics, but sooo many people, myself included, have stated they had no idea how deep and dark the lyrics were until hearing Ronnie's version. So, you have Jacoby Shaddix, lead singer of Papa Roach, pouring his guts out lyrically, screaming those words at the top of his lungs, he just needs someone to tell him he's ok, he's fine, he's got this, but he puts some head boppin', sweet crunchy guitar and drums over it, and no one really notices. Similar to what a lot of us do every day, we walk out the door, and we're really going through it on the inside, but instead of crunchy guitars, we put on our happy/strong face, and head out into the world so no one can see our pain, or hurting. It's only later, after some life experience, some self reflection, a therapist, and hopefully some good people you surrounded yourself with, that you can recognize that pain in others, and aren't afraid to express your own pain without the crunchy guitars. IMO, that is just another aspect of Ronnie's genius, that he recognized how powerful those lyrics were 23yrs ago, and was able to show the world, while still respecting the original song and paying homage to one of his influences coming up. You should check out his other reimagined songs, although I'm not a huge fan of the Vampire one, but "The Drug In You Is Reimagined" is absolutely breath taking!! That is one of their own songs reimagined, so you definitely should do a double reaction and react to their original first then the newer one. Again, great job ladies!! ✌️💚

FIR's early stuff is definitely done more comical, though the topics and lyrics were much deeper. You should definitely go down the Ronnie rabbit hole. I think doing The Drug in Me both versions together, and I'm Not a Vampire both versions together would be a great place to start.

🌺You guys are a blast & lots of fun. Just a thought from my little knothole of sound quality. There is some distortion coming through maybe add a little bass, bring down the treble. Maybe check with some other podcasters. Try some mic filters and bring your mic a few inches back. Pat Flynn would be a great resource. I likes the reaction... I personally prefer the Papa Roach version though. I just felt (and don't come at me) they were trying to do the same thing as disturbed did with the sound of silence, but didn't do it as well... I mean you get the sense of frustration and emotional pain... But Papa Roach did that... It's the song I don't appreciate... The reaction, as always, was entertaining!

I tried to make a comment on good songs by them and even songs like this they have redone, but it's their own songs. However, I think your channel word filter is REALLY strict, and is auto deleting my comment because it doesn't like certain words that aren't even "bad words".

It was good. I give it a 7.5 But it's much better the original! When you hear "Last Resort" it's gonna be hard to associate it with the FIR version just 'cause the original version riff is unmistakable which marked a generation and a genre, my opinion..
