As the era of samurai rule comes to an end, the Bakumatsu period arrives. Those known as ninja have become outdated relics of the past. Ryu, a descendant of the lowest rank of the ninja organization, a ""genin,"" now lives in Edo as a runaway ninja. One day, Ryu's true identity is uncovered, and Katsu Kaishuu recruits him, entrusting him with a secret mission. That mission is to ""rescue Princess Shizuka, a bride from Satsuma Clan married off in Edo, and return her to her homeland."" Soon, pursued by Satsuma Clan's retainers, a mysterious practitioner of Ryukyuan martial arts named Shou is unleashed. Amidst the chase and the pursued, intertwined ambitions set the stage for a journey of battles to unfold...

Gene Simmons from Kiss is great in the role of the old grey haired ninja. Great acting and sword fighting. Some offbeat humorous moments scattered throughout. ty 4 good movi.

That has nothing to do with old versus new, ninjas didn't wear the hairstyle with the top-knot and shaved pate like samurai an others of those days did, just like ronin samurai wore the top-knot but didn't wear the shaved pate.

OMFG, the dialogue ist an utter crapola, the story shallow AF. The producers must have a really low opinion about the target audience's abilities... (Or may it be accurate?)

I'm trying to be more giving because it looks like someone's pet project made on a nothing budget, . lol It's not that they have low opinion about the target audience's abilities. They obviously had no clue how to "show" the supposed themes and ideas. Because nothing is done with anything brought up. The characters come off as bi-polar and changed out for duplicate whose slightly different most scenes.
