They are shinobi. Shinobi are beasts. Eventually, the two beasts are toyed with by laws and destiny.
The story is set during the Sengoku period, an era far removed from the word "peace". In order to survive in this turbulent time, the shinobi, who revere the Sengoku warlords as their lords and pledge loyalty, live. Kagerou (Kenji Matsuda), sharp-minded and skilled, is also one of the lower-ranked shinobi. Though he struggles with group activities, he is a remarkable shinobi whom the main family respects. After successfully completing a challenging mission with his only trusted childhood friend, Aoi (Maju Ozawa), and due to his lone wolf nature, which refuses to interact with others, he becomes the target of resentment from other shinobi and is marked for death.
Aoi, too, becomes a target for other shinobi and is captured. From the moment he saves her, the two embark on a fugitive journey. Among the strict rules of the shinobi, the harshest punishment is leaving the ranks of the shinobi. Pursuers come after the two, accused of breaking this rule. Traps are set one after another. Pursuers continue to come relentlessly, no matter how much they break free. Will the two be able to survive on their own?

Excellent movie....I love that developed each character and had a good story line. I have never seen a ninja movie that showed what life was like for them in their training village. They were complex and were just as human as anyone else. I think that this movie is one of the greatest ninja movies I've ever seen.
SUN! ! ! ! ! ! I 1st bought this series at a TowerRecords store in the early 2000's on DVD on some random ish. Havent seen it since. Gonna be nice to re-watch this after so many years. Thanks for the upload.

This 2002 video entry is not the original English title as it is called, basic enough, "SHINOBI" in Japanese title which is actually called "隠忍術〜しのび〜" directed by Kenji Tanigaki ( 谷垣健治 ). No further information is provided as this video is not added in the IMDB, either. Believable to be a low-budget entry as the Ninja actors is native Japanese, not foreigners that is shown in Imdb with name credits from Tanigaki's other films with 'Shinobi' video-shot entries.

Sorry to say this, but complete and utter crap. The movie (all style, no substance) lost me finally when the shinobi (ordered to bring the head of the enemy) left without said head. Might appeal to a younger audience with the attention span of an ant though... Thanks for uploading anyway! Keep up the good work.
