The gray panes were a callback to Hermitcraft Season 7 and the free glass provided by Shade-E-E's (One of Etho's businesses on the server). The season was a great ride. Worth going back for a watch if you haven't seen it.

@@EliteEpicGamerz A low iron sword vs a low/medium diamond axe is no chance, no matter how much you could/would have. The main issue is the shield breaking, the enemy can just keep up their shield all the time as long as they bounce right. Sure, in master-PVP this is different (somewhat), but this is no master-PVP event, just friends having fun. Also, Etho got shot in the back (by an ally) losing I think nearly 3 hearts, so that didn't help either. I was a bit surprised he didn't use an axe, even to just break the shield and then switch to the sword. I think in this episode everyone had to be down to 1 heart first so his long survival haunted him a lot, since - I think - he realized too late he can't afford to now farm up full gear while everyone wants to finish the series.

Etho has a habit of always missing his first shot with an axe, and then being unable to time any of his hits afterwards, so idk how he would’ve done any better, especially since he made no attempt to get a crit

@@KevSB07 He did get a crit and jumped just for the crit, but it's not like it was consistent and yes, thats a fair point to make if you'd talk about flaws, but I dont expect a single one of them to fight flawlessly. I dont even think Etho wanted first place, but thats a different topic. Seeing no pearls, no lava buckets, no precise fire, no boat jumps (2-3 in your hotbar can allow you to jump a large distance in split seconds), no fishing rod etc. it was a casual fight, which means just the base value of the weapon you use determines pretty much who wins, or I guess also who gets luckier with his hits

@@DexTag Yeah, that's true. I'm kinda bummed though, because I'm just always hoping for something reminiscent of Mindcrack UHC 8 or 11, and those were also very casual, so I didn't think it was unreasonable to hope for.

Maybe if he'd had a diamond axe, more gapples and ender pearls, plus a punch bow to make sure the hit actually took him off, but I think it made sense to wait for another opportunity that time

Etho being mad and ready to kill everyone, then switching to happy when Ren gives him the diamond boots is oddly similar to how I am after a long day of work and my best friend gives me hot cocoa.

Etho's epic introduction executed excellently was ruined by his mic being off and it was HILARIOUS

I loved how during the tower standoff (around 18:00) Rhen hesitates, Scott shoots back, Pearl tries to threaten Etho, while Cleo is the only one who simply decides to go and talk him out of fighting, risking loosing her last life in the process without hesitation.

Cleo is simply returning the favour Etho has extended her the whole season - emotional support (Etho’s words not mine). She knew he wouldn’t kill her if he could help it. And Etho’s alliance with Ren doesn’t save him at all. Seems like once Bdubs died, it was Cleo who was his ride or die. “Oh, Cleo! Cleo, come with me. These other two though…”

The among us with hermits and friends streams are some of my favorite content atm. Etho’s always been a great player but more than anything he gels very well with the group and has some of the most entertaining lines (I’ll Never not laugh thinking about his silly jester round a few months ago)

That would've been great for his final battle. I think he underestimated how much damage he was taking and overestimated how much support he had. Honestly, I don't think Etho and Cleo should've died there; the other's should've jumped into melee sooner.

But, I was talking more about surviving than doing damage; even if he didn't have any weapon and were simply dancing with a shield, he would've lasted longer if there were more allies at melee range to take some of the damage.

I just loved the way the 'hat trick' concept revealed all the different cultures at play there: ice hockey for Canada, cricket for South Africa and football for the UK. ^_^

I feel like an Etho-Cleo-BDubs team would be nonstop chaotic comedy gold.

Cleo really is the epitome of the phrase "be gay do arson"

The last battle reminds me of the old etho "dwarfs vs zombies". super nostalgic in some ways and an enjoyable series. Thanks Etho.

As someone who watched Pearls POV last episode, that is a terrifying thumbnail

I remember last season (3rd Life) when Etho kept putting blocks in front of Chleo when she got "aggressive", that was hilarious. He did it again at some stage this season as well. Next season should have a Death Message sound, Skizz, Martyn and sometimes impulse put in a sound in the edit for our benefit and it was great to have it

I felt so nostalgic when Etho and Cleo stood next to the smoke signals machinery

I love how Cleo just accepted all pf Etho's instructions PVP wise hahahaha

It should definitely have been you or Scott. This is fine. You played a great game, Etho. My personal MVP. Just a great, great game.

I sooo wish you'd of shot pearl off the tower when she was standing right over the edge! That'd of been sooo funny. You have amazing restraint not to of fired that arrow! Lol

You should definitely be allowed to defend your property and attack trespassers. Especially if you say something like “leave or I will be forced to open fire.”

Glad to see ethos a good Canadian knowing his hockey terms.

Next season, the dream team of Etho, Cleo, and Bdubs would be a joy to watch. That is, if we can't do Team Canada ;)

Rewatching this series and remembering what a great time this was. Since Netflix/Prime I never watch any episodic tv that I can’t immediately binge the entire season. Having to wait an entire week to find out what happens next restored that old feeling I used to get when watching a show with an overarching storyline like Dark Angel. I hope you take what worked so well in this series with you into HC9. By that I mean all the natural collabs you made with people you had never interacted with before. We all know that you and Bdubs have the best chemistry of any other MC duo (not forgetting that Team Canada has the best chemistry of any other MC trio!) but who knew the same would be true of you and Cleo?? Pearl too. And actually seeing you finally interact with Mumbo only just to kill him was so so good. And then Mumbo and Skizz trying to threaten/kill you was comedy gold.

Honestly, he just needs to play some more PVP in general. You can tell he's not used to shield combat at all, and his bow combat is strongest at mid-range, compaaratively terrible at short- or long-range. Admittedly, I know next to nothing about MCC, so I have no idea whether he can participate or not. But, simply playing some casual PVP like he used to with Mindcrack and the Midnight Society. As much as I love Third Life and Last Life, until the end of the game, it has a lot more to do with survival, politics, strategy, and tactics than it does with actual PVP combat.

rewatching the last life series to compensate the rough session Etho just had in limited life lol...the poor man...in panick, Cleo missed the call out, then accidentally poisoned him, and he had to go into battle with an unenchanted iron sword. But this is the most entertaining season personally speaking, as the chemistry between Etho and Bdubs and the Team Best is just, the best.

I could hear skizz yelling when the map broke!

Loved the PERFECT balance of humor and having fun, with friendly competition. I love that EVERYONE is constantly apologizing to each other throughout this series! Cant wait for the next!

For next season it would be a great idea to have a rule that allows you to attack someone if they enter your base without permission

You were just so nice this whole time. Like, you had your vendettas and moments of roleplay, but of all the people I followed for this series, your perspective felt the most like a Friday night game session with friends. And it's a nice take on a series where the whole point is to murder your friends. Here's to a potential season three!
