LAST KITCHEN CABINET FRAME FROM MILL TO CABIN | OFF GRID TIMBER FRAME HOMESTEAD

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

#porch #kitchencabinet #cabin
In this DIY off grid cabin build, I am installing the kitchen cabinets, so if your new here we finished the construction of the charred board and batten exterior on the timber frame cabin on the homestead in the Great Smoky Mountains using self-reliant skills from both modern and traditional hand tools in the woodwork from our own sawmill, we incorporated raised bed gardening, have a hobbit style chicken house pen, compost toilet, added a front porch to the cabin, an exterior rock foundation and the interior using wildwood trim from slab wood, and starting the plans for our new sawmill building, workshop and barn while installing the cabin flooring. Mortise and tenon are the basic frame work on the 7 x 7 post and beam along with the 7 x 10 beams that support the floor joist. We hope you will follow us through the final stages of the cabin build, root cellar, basecamp and future buildings for the homestead.

I am a single disabled mom facing the daunting task of building cabinets from scratch on a budget. Your video is the most realistic for someone like me. It gives me a glimmer of hope that I won't completely screw it up. Thank you. ❤

I would recommend to screw the countertop onto the frame from the bottom up, so that screws do not show at all. Great job!

Good morning everyone! Did you ever think about water catchment for the cabin? I have a large ranch style home and a double garage and I have all the water I need for my gardens and then some. Got some 200 gallon barrels and made the system myself - thanks to you tube videos. Just a thought.

Hey buddy your cabinets are looking awesome and I love the live edge counter top... you're talking about putting polyurethane on it but I don't think that will hold up to the abuse a countertop gets but if you use clear food safe epoxy that will hold up better and will look great and bring out all the details of the wood

Your doing a great job , but I am curious. Why don't you use brad nails and carpenters glue instead of screws as it would hold (probably) better , stronger and ect. without leaving such an imprint on your final product. Love your show , John

Are you considering a cement counter top? They are pretty cool. You should just sand and polyurethane the counter top in theme with the rest of the house.

Hi Richard you asked in one of the video’s for suggestions re giveaways , I was watching one video and noticed a load of wood at the side almost square shaped and thought they might make nice chopping boards I know I’ve seen you make em having watched you all a fare while now, also the big stirring spoons and cutlery for outdoor living. I know it may be a bit of chew on for ye as you have a lot on but maybe in the future I’m sure a lot of your followers would love the opportunity to win something personally made. How about also a metal bear or something similar just a thought hope it helps. Regards Gillian
