How Farms Work by Ryan Kuster is a KZread channel based in rural Potosi, Wisconsin.
Our mission is to teach those who didn't grow up on a farm what the farming life is like.
These videos show the Kuster family working together raising cattle and crops. We believe everyone who wants to know more about farming should be able to share the farming experience with us and we look to educate the world on many essential agriculture topics.
How Farms Work takes place on ~1,100 acres with around 75-200 cattle at any given time. Four John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm, which are a 4020, 4640, 7600, and 8235R.

For those of us that don't farm, your in depth shots of what each piece of equipment does is appreciated
Love the "Farmers Lunch"-A can of Pringles and a Mt. Dew! Nice video showing the difference between a firm seed bed and a seed bed with too many "holes." Nice slow-mo of the rolling basket! Beautiful drone footage as well.
Well Ryan, you are pretty lucky because here in Oklahoma we have gotten about 10 inches of rain in a few weeks! It’s not helping corn and wheat around where I live. My friend is the biggest farmer in the country and they have been struggling with rain in a few feilds so you’ve got it pretty good when it comes down to rain!
Execptional videos. No better anywhere on You Tube. Ryan, you am the best...

Great video Ryan...love the channel..Congratulations on getting your 2019 planing done...
Hi Ryan, That is the best shots of machinery working on a farm I have seen. You sure are gifted when it comes to your videos. Great work . Be Safe and take care.
Alright got ter done was praying for you all. Good ariel shots. Now let's watch it grow.
Beautiful country from the overhead drone shot.
These camera angles really help us understand the machines and their scale. Its awesome, please never stop. ;)
That's awesome Ryan. Weather here has been bad too. We still have 50 acres of potatoes to plant. It's getting late for my area
There’s still quite a lot of fields by me that haven’t been touched yet. Glad you are done with planting!
Great footage from Inside the rolling basket. And great drone footage also. Amazing job

Hell No, I suffer from vertigo. When the basket went round and round I had to look away. It could have been bad for me to watch. I really like the drone videos directly over the VT, watching the dirt moved like boat waves, back and forth. Good Show Ryan. Question?? Why doesn't corn come in the big loader boxes like soybeans do??
@perrypavlat6909

@@RKHarm24 It does. A box usually holds 40 bags worth of seed.
Those planting rows looked really nice. Great job getting it all in .
Love all the angles and sounds.

Thoroughly enjoy your channel. Thanks for the insight and education!
Nice action shots underneath the 82 and in the VT. Great video!
Wow! Your shots over the field were amazing! The only time I get to see that is when we go up in the plane. Congratulations on getting done😉
Great job cropping in, and the music's good too!!!
CONGRATS ON YOUR PLANTING !
Enjoy watching your videos.....great drone footage.
I feel sorry for those who have to run a drill, lots of extra work. We mostly only run cereal crops and canola, so I am lucky to just rely on a standard air seeder. Hope your crops go well this year!
Glad you guys got everything In, I hope it all comes up and looks great for you. You look tired in this video I’m sure your glad it’s over
Great vid Ryan thanks for sharing..

Beautiful camera work! Why would anyone want to live in a city after they see the beauty of an American Farm?

So true and here in Ct, they are buying a lot of the farms up and building houses. It's not going to be good when we can't feed ourselves.
Phenomenal drone footage !
Good job from Greece
Yeah this planting season has been crazy
In ga we call it turbo till does good job with bigger chunks of dirt
Drone footage looks so clear what a view thanks Ryan awesome
Incredible videography man!

The plantng is finally done!!! It's time for a long sleep.
Howdy from Texas
Congrats. We still have 600 acres
It'll be interesting to see how the corn planted ito that dead "cover crop" does. Lol
Green power! Take a well deserved rest.

Would but the river is too high to launch it!
Glad you guys got finished up, I’m assuming at 12:35 that we are seeing the Mississippi River in the back ground?
Down hear in Northern Illinois we have really only had three good planting days.
Love that tractor . Them front duals look monster from the cab . The seeder seems like it works slick. Is that additive Graphite ? Heart is great ... You should watch the last live Dog and the Butterfly on the tube 👍🏻🇨🇦
Your camera shots are TOTALLY AMAZING!!! Must have insurance on them.....hahahah
Travis was baking
For next spring u guys need to get a planter for the 82
This might be too late to ask as you are done with the planter and is probably put away in the back of the shed by the time this video was published. Anyway, there must be tremendous strain on those marker arms when they are extended. When they are extended, it is now a fulcrum with all the force on the end. Why don't they just snap right off or bend when being used? Thanks for the videos with great camera angles
NICE SHOTS
Congratulations on completion. Great camera work!!
Hey from Lynchburg Tn
Thanks
Love the camera shots under tractor and digger and looking forward from digger. Cool views.
When are you going to get the part for your v-t? Awesome video!
How many acres do you own and what is your favorite equipment and machine (tractor/combine) and why
Now on to #GROW19
love your beard
I thought you only had that skid steer for a month
You mentioned in another video you add a talcum powder like material in the seed buckets to help them flow through the machine better, but what is the liquid in the tank? Fertilizer of some sort? When / How is that applied?
We had like 2 weeks with no rain and we got our in now it's been raining past almost week now
Ryan are you going to be doing a how farms work crop scouting progress report video at all?
We've got almost all of the rocks picked.
Congrats. Is this body of water in the drone shots the Mississippi or another body of water?
@6:10: It looks like the disks on the VT have lost some of their edge. At what point would you re-sharpen them? @9:30: Is this a test of planting into chemically terminated cover crops?
We only have 30 acers left
Corn/beans are in, now videos on hay or cows and fencing videos, just a guess
Is anyone else noticing that likes disappearing off video's? I liked this one as soon as I got on and by the end it was gone. Anyways just know that I love the channel. Keep the content coming
Have you guys ever tried a kelly disc chain ???
That shot at 12:15 is priceless! Awesome!!
How do you like that tank there?
What Do you like more the foot throttle or hand throttle in the 8235r
Do you use a stabilizer? Your videos are stabilized very well.
