Thanks - I've been searching for this exact video, great to see it before 1.0! It would have been nice to see inventory management with controller, like moving stuff from bag to character, or managing the various talent trees.. do you need to do the awkward dragging similar to scrolling? Also would be nice to see a longer clip of doing some content with a controller.. perhaps a stream recording or something?

yeah, the dragging is how its setup for me, but you bring up a great point, I've had this game for a while, and did some streams in the past, long ago, but with 1.0 doing a livestream could be a lot of fun too :)

I would still really like to know if the right stick has a functional purpose outside of menus. Does anyone know?

Shots fired as POE and B not backing out of menus 🤣 I can’t even use controller on POE because of B not being a back button in menus.

I dont know how you mapped Y because for me it says its already in use even though it's not. I can't assign anything to A and the whole UI for assigning button is comically bad.

I am using a ps5 controller and all I can do is move and sword attack. I thought it was due to ps5 controlled and not xbox. They need to fix it

How to remap my controller button A to 1st ability? I cant

Idk what to do. I'm trying to reconfigure my setting but this stupid runemaster build utilizes th stupid node that forces me to use skills in certain order in order to proc certain runic invocations. However it won't let me change any button whatsoever no madder how many times I try to mess with the controller configuration settings. Doesn't make any sense at all I can use flameward on b I need it on rb and it won't ever change it.

What is the dodge button?

I think its quite hard to use the cursor when you scrolling to your items on your bag. I wish its like d4 that you can use your directional button the check each item at the inventory. or is there any way to do it?

can you seamlessly switch between keyboard and mouse vs controller on the fly use like you can diablo 4? I play with xbox controller on diablo on PC but then put the controller down and use M&K for inventory mngt and dragging and dropping items in stash, etc. Does this work similar in Last Epoch? I only started playing yesterday at launch in offline mode

I've mainly tested the game out with melee but not enough to recommend a good build, however with 1.0 on the horizon, if I can get some time to play/stream let me see what I can get created.

great video but game wont let me swap RB and Y. If I try to replace RB with Y it say Y is already in use and cant be replaced. If I try to replace Y with RB nothing happens and ablity 3 becomes unbound. If I try to remove Y from attack minion all buttons disappear LOL. Using Xbox controller, no issues so far with anyother games.

I’m having this issue too

I tried using a controller and found that the ability to use the mouse with the right stick while moving/fighting was pointless. Your character will still activate abilities based on the direction they are facing, not where the mouse is pointing. This is especially frustrating for ranged skills. Am I missing something? What can you even do with the right stick mouse? Is it only useful inside of menus?

Yeah they need to change this, abilities that require aiming either snap to an enemy or go max distance in the direction you're facing. It's getting me killed

There's a controller bought back a while ago to use with Diablo immortal called Flydigi Apex 2. It had a unique thing where X Y and B was on a floating area that let's you aim at a direction with those buttons. Wonder if I can get it to work with LE.

I tried remapping my controller keys but i keep getting an error saying my Y button is already mapped, but i removed it already from the minion attack. I cant figure out why and its really annoying. Literally causingme not wanting to play the game because I cant map the keys to how I want it on my controller.

I want to play the game, I just can't until they fix the issue. Once it's fixed I'll glady buy it again. What's your problem?

with steam adding more support for PS controllers there really needs to be the option to change button icons in newer games Edit: dont know if game has been updated but changing controller settings from "Steam input" to "default" I now have PS icons. Also I'm using dualsense X

im using a ps5 controller. default controller settings and im using dualsense X (not sure if its necessary but thats what im using)

When LE refines controller I’ll buy the game. Reading comments doesn’t give me enough confidence yet.

Controller support for this game is so trash and 1.0 didn't get better. PoE and Diablo have great controller layouts. Why not just go with what they've standardized? Instead, we get a cursor 💀

The funny thing is - coming from diablo 4 i was hoping the game would work better with controllers but its actually much worst. You cant remap Y even if you dont use minions, you cant toggle the menu wheel to not reset when you let go of the stick so you have to go claw to press A whipe operating the stick and hold down the select button, game doesnt recognize backtriggers as inputs and it forces you to use a mouse when in inventory or in your spells list. And for some dumb reason, RUN is in the action bar and you cant remove it for another skill It needs more time to cook but i recommend waiting for someone to create a proper controller layout before picking up a controller

I'm in the same boat. It always pissed me off when shooters didn't use the standard controller layouts of popular shooters like Battlefield or CoD. Last Epoch decided to not used the standard layout of Diablo and PoE, and it's sooooo frustrating. It's clear that this had almost no effort or testing put into it because I'm 3 hrs in, and I can't stand it. The final nail in the coffin for me was having to hold A with my right thumb using the cursor, then reaching my left thumb over to the right stick to scroll down. Nobody saw this? Lol also, you can't re-map the A (on Xbox cont) which is the closest button to your thumb? Wtf

i am struggling to remap my controller. Everytime I try and set Y, it complains that there is a conflict. But it does not give me option to proceed (unlike when i reset B, which works)

I'm having the same problem with 1.0, it won't allow replacing, and when you remove all bindings disappear, when you bind something back, all the defaults reappear, maybe a launch bug
