Here's an idea about a new video: the art of overtaking (safely) I noticed you did some overtakes. Right hand bends are good for overtaking (because you can take the racing line). But need to watch out for junctions on the right, oncoming traffic, someone behind already about to overtake, etc.

These roads tho. It's been a beautiful send-off. Anyway, seems like a natural progression to go from a hothatch to [no spoiler], provided you don't need all of the practicality that comes with 5 doors. I'm happy for you, and I hope to see that new car in action soon :)

Our miata nc has pretty strong engine braking, you really don't need brakes that much if you plan in advance / everything around you is predictable / you know what to do. Even on hairpins if you're skilled. I'm not, but I'm much better than 2 years ago when I started driving :D I bet you grow A TON with your megane :) Enjoy your new toy :) rwd is interesting :) BTW it's sweet that you pat the car, I do that too :D

I would love to see just an hour of you driving with just the engine sounds. Like an ASMR! ❤

Considering the amount of BMWs you've driven recently, it only made sense that you get one to replace the Megane. Hope the next owner of the Megane happens to find this channel and keeps in touch with you, would be pretty cool. But now you've got manual and rear wheel drive, some would consider that a true petrol head car.

Manual Supra was very, very close to winning actually. But I guess that's also a BMW. 3rd was the Mustang Mach 1 - no matter how you look at it, it can't handle like the euro stuff. I did look into some older stuff S15, Elise, R32 + buying a boring daily - but I don't have a garage and they would just melt in the UK

Random question. How/where have you mounted your POV camera? When I mount my GoPro on my forehead, its always too high and the steeringwheel covers the gauges. I have to have it in my face for a proper view...

Yep. You need to get the lens in line with your eyes. I have mine upside down on a hat clip.

We did a whole bunch this day - just drive up the A5 and turn off when the road gets twisty... basically everything out there is fantastic.

I've got a 1999 Megane Coach 1.4 16V with around 120k km (~75k mi), been having some issues with it recently, like the engine almost stalling on its own in idle, but it's still alive and kicking most of the time 🤣

Not that it's in my place to ask but genuinely how do you afford these cars? I'm a little envious tbh lol I hope to get there one day. I look forward to the coming content mate you're doing great. I find myself following a lot of your driving tips and never get bored.

I don't get why anyone would go for the current gen 2 series, the car design equivalent of crocs. If you want that format, just get the previous gen m240i, right? You still get the B58, and you'll want to look back at it after you park. Replace that with the fear of retching because you caught a glimpse of it, no thank you. But then again, I assume you don't care how a car looks that much given you're moving on from a renault.

However, I don't think it's just "the internet" thinking it's out of whack in terms of design. It's any person with eyes and semblance of taste. Didn't mean that as any kind of offense, just that some people just have more of a keen eye for aesthetics than others. Calling this car anything close to a looker is the like wearing socks with sandals, throwing some brown pants on and whatever shirt and saying you've got style. Let's not make it out to be something it's obviously not. It is objectively a 35 year old man trying to dress nicely and failing miserably.

No matter how you put it, there are people who like a certain car design/clothes/architectural house design/etc. and some who don't. That's life, always has been, always will be. Many many older cars have been hated because of design and 15 years later the design is liked and suddenly iconic (look at certain older BMWs or Porches for example). Get off your high horse claiming that any person with eyes would't like this design, that's complete bullshit. I for one like the new 2 series design, more classic, retro and elegant. The designs before this look all boy racer, too aggressive and something hooligans drive around all the time. But that's just my opinion (and so far we see also other people's opinions ;) and we have eyes.

But that's exactly what a powerful coupe is supposed to be. That's what drew most "fans" into BMW until the fraud designer Domagoj came along after ruining how Peugeot looked like for years. Should have said "people who use their eyes to enjoy looking at cars. rather than looking at the view from inside them".

This was actually a serious consideration! The M2's limits are another step above the Megane's... so I'll be even further from the limit - potentially not as fun. The difference is, with 460+bhp, I'm in control of when I break those limits much easier than in the Megane.
