My husband and I used to dance to this song , he is in heaven waiting on me so we can dance together again
Beautiful! Made me cry, thinking of my mother who recently passed. She opened my eyes to all types of good music, over the years.
Thank you, tears rolling as I write...
So beautiful...this is my story about this song... My dad was a jazz pianist performing and making 3 LP's in the late 50's / 60's. At the age of 15 I became a drummer for him traveling to various shows around South Africa. At the age of 16 I herd him playing it on the piano exactly as the mystro (Floyd Cramer) sounded, I just fell in love with that tune immediately. At the age of 18 was drafted into the army. The hour before my departure to board the train, I pulled my dad aside and asked him to just sit at his piano and play me "The Last Date" before I left. Which he did and we hugged and said our goodbyes. Needless to say that turned out to be our "Last Date". My amazingly talented father sadly passed away while I was serving in the army at the age of only 42 in 1972. So thank you for playing that song just as your grandfather did, I'm not sure where you are nowadays but just stumbling on this was so special to me...I am now almost 70, still drumming and still miss my ol pops terribly ...go well...
Jason, your grandfather would be so very proud. Great job.

This is a iconic song of Floyd Cramer. I remember when I was 17, and my girlfriend’s brother played this song on a small record player. I haven’t seen one of those in about 40 yrs. I I was such a good person and I love music. As I got older I realized that the American way of life was disappearing. I didn’t understand what was going on, but now I realize that the much as things change, they stay th same. I am old now, but this song is a way of taking a time trip, back to when people were mostly civil, but everyone had a much kinder way, and that I will always greater. Mr. Coleman, you do Grandad a great job in preserving his legacy. God bless you; being kind and considerate and helping others will never be unpopular. I think society has to recalibrate, and the pitfalls of society will not be as deep and hurtful. People are hurting enough these days, but you are never really alone when you have music.
The most beautiful song ever written. What a fine job! Thanks for sharing.
I always loved Floyd Cramer, an Arkansas composer.
That is what I call music. Excellent.
I can remember my mom and dad dancing to this song when I was just a little guy. I've always thought it was beautiful. ❤️
Wow, no Words! Just Tears!
Your Grandad lives on in you , wonderful to listen to .
I lost my wife at the tender age of 65 in May last year and this came up on my FB page this morning and I cant get it out of my head. It reminds me of all the great times we had together over that past 16 years and and that our last date was in the hospice together where she died in my arms. My eyes are leaking while i write this. Thanks for a lovely tune.
One of my all time favorites. Good job Jason!!
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!! You do such honor to your late grandfather who was the greatest!
Very well done young man. Grandfather would be proud.
My all time favourite Floyd Cramer song. Learned to play it on the piano in my teens and loved playing it.
Just beautiful ❤️. You brought tears to my eyes playing "Last Dance" by your grandfather ♥️♥️👍👍!! God bless 💕.
I have loved this song and listen to it often. It touches my heart and vividly reminds me of my dearly departed. Thank you.
Absolutely one of my favorites
Never been a more beautiful instrumental written.
And let me add a further statement to my previous comment that the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra did a beautiful job of adding to Jason's super rendition of his Grand Dad's favorite legacy tune. Thank you Jason and LGSO. I never get tired of hearing this fantastic piano musical piece !
Just Beautiful , absolutely beautiful

I remember when I was a little kid way back in 1968.. My great uncle would play this song on his blue piano and put me on his lap and put my hands on top of his and Play.... great great memories of yesteryear...
I’ve loved this song since I was a kid. Just listened to this video after seeing your granddad’s name mentioned on ‘Country Music’ show on LPB. Still love it. First time it made me cry though. My first time listening to it after losing my Mother. It was more their music at the time, I just loved this song. First time I saw a picture of your granddad as a young man also on the country music show. He was always older in anything I had seen him in. I was born in 1959. I remember his name and that song mentioned in an interview with a talented piano player who had played with many well known bands, something about playing 2 songs at the same time in that song, (I’m not a musician).
👏👏👏💝 One of my favorite 🎹 piano pieces. So soulful - so romantic 💓🌺✨
Just one of those songs that automatically transcends you to a better time, days gone by
I was three when Floyd Cramer already a seasoned pianist wrote this song and played it, Now his grandson also plays it just as well as his grandfather who wrote the song!! They played this song together in another video here on KZread. Both were and are so talented!!!
My mom could not read music, she played by ear and this was her best. She could play a lot of songs just by listening to them just once. We loved hearing her play. R.I.P my sweet mom. I love you and miss you.
Your grandad would be so proud of you.
One of the most beautiful songs every written !!! Man, can that young man play the piano !!!
My wife loves this song so much. It brings her to tears of joy in remembrance of her dad. As it was his favorite song. God bless Jason
❤Absolutely Beautiful
PRICELESS!! Love this song!! Great Job!!
This brings tears to my eyes as well and touches my heart like no other music has ever done.
As a proud baby boomer, I’d say Cramer was a very under-appreciated artist. This is pure classic stuff; no matter your age or your music style preference.
This lovely song takes me back to the memories of my last date with my first lover, Young-Ok in the past. She is still in my heart since 1967.

In a word, BEAUTIFUL! I fell in love with Floyd Cramer's music with the first song of his I ever heard, Last Date. That was in 1960 when it was released, Since then I've been buying his records and never cease to be amazed at his pure, raw talent. Keep up your grandfather's fantastic work.
Heard Jason do this on the Grand Old Opry in Dec. '22, sounds just like his Grandpa. Good job.
Such a sad song, but so beautiful. Kudos to Jason for that beautiful rendition of his grandfathers famous instrumental. One of my all time favorites!!!

WOW, thank you Jason for such beautiful and inspiring piano music. Your Grand Dad would be so very proud. I grew up listening to your Grand Dads music [I'll be 82 in 3 weeks]. His music got me through some tougher than normal military times [early 60's] and for that alone I will be forever grateful to Floyd Cramer. Thank you Jason for keeping up your Grand Dads impeccable and memorable legacy !
