I b the 80 year young 'Ol Ed mentioned at the end of the video and I had one of the best adventures any guy with the amount of Earthwalk Time I have accumulated could possibly have. // Thanx Linda and crew, and thanx Zack for allowin' me in yer terrific video. // Oh yeah, my beautiful and talented wife, Rebecca, now actually - & FINALLY - believes I DO ride my bike when I leave for a weekend. 😈

I’m in a Gravel Bike California video! 😂 So fun to meet you Zack! And 80 year old Ed was the coolest. I camped next to him the night before and learned so much about him. What an inspiration he is. Thanks for all the work you do to show off our amazing state.

Even before riding, I could tell that everyone behind this event was sitting on something special and was eager to share this great experience. What a top-notch day and just think of all the great memories passed on! Thank you for letting us be a part.

Appreciate the video. Susanville is home in my heart, and seeing video of it's beauty, even now that I live in another state, is a good reminder of "home"

That is a highly underrated part of California. Major Central/Eastern Oregon vibes there with the forests and volcanoes, epic scenery, and much less crowded than most famous areas of the state. And don't forget the seemingly endless maze of gravel roads there...

I drove through there without time to stop last year and wanted more of the experience this time. Such a great supplement to the event.

I came for the Bizz Johnson Trail, but the rest of the riding was great too!!

Nice recap. One correction to make though - the burn scar is from the 2020 Hog Fire, not the Dixie.

Lucky it was a joke...this time...

A couple years ago, I went way out of my way to go to Susanville to ride the Bizz Johnson Trail. Got 8 miles into it, and trail was closed to clear fire damage. I was so bummed, and haven't been able to get back up that way.

I've always wanted to go, but a bit far for me to try without knowing what was out there. Definitely LGAR puts it in its proper context.

@@GravelBikeCalifornia and you are from CA. I drove up there special from Palo Alto, and then had to drive back home to Mississippi. I almost ignored the sign, but the fines and penalties for getting caught in the keep out zone were just too high.
